    I remember being excited by adding coffee to my protein, it felt like heaven.. Now I'm completely turned off by it because I drank it every morning like that.. Now I can hardly get it down : (
  2. I just had a month long stall @ 4 months post op. i was at 162 for a whole month!!! I finally brought through the stall and now at 156. I hope your stall eventually breaks !

    I was told if you subtract the carbs from the fiber you get the "net carbs" so lets say it says 21 carbs and 11 fiber your net carbs are 10... Meaning only 10 g carbs... Anyone else hear of that???

    Mami. I'm sorry this is happening to you : ( I've been through very similar situation... I just want to let u know u are in my prayers!!! I know the road seems long, hard and u feel alone and are probably feeling overwhelmed as well but it WILL get better in time and u will come out a stronger woman that ur kids will look up to! Just take it day by day... I am always here if u need a shoulder to cry on or just want to vent feel free to PM me anytime! I hope things start to look up for u!!!

    PEANUT BUTTER? ?

    Some day stay away because peanut butter is very high in fat... Alot of RNY patients use PB2 which is a powder form of peanut butter that has 85% less fat than regular peanut butter. You can find it at GNC, The Vitamin Shoppe and Walmart. You can simply add it to your protein shake and its very good!!

    What ya eating tonight?

    Went to a clam bake. Trued to eat a clam but after chewing and chewing an chewing with no success I spit it out and moved on to steamed blue crabs!! They were delicious ! It took me forever to eat because I had to break them open and pry out the meat so for the first time I threw out my 20min to eat rule. I picked through 2 crabs and had 2 bites of crab dip... Now I'm just worried... Did I eat too much, did I eat too slow... Why can't I just enjoy my dinner???

    Friday Weigh-In!

    Finally !!! Ok so I had a stall and gain and last weigh in I was 162lbs. Today I am 156.5 !!!! Total loss this week was 6.5lbs ! So happy!!!

    2.5 oz grilled tuna steak with 2 little Lima beans!!! Very delish !
  11. Just make sure that your calcium is calcium citrate and not calcium carbonate.. Alot of over the counter calcium chews are calcium carbonate so beware !

    Vitamin HELP

    Most over the counter calcium chews even at gnc are made with calcium carbonate and not calcium citrate. We RNY patients need the citrate because it is absorbed soo much better. The carbonate even in non RNY people is less absorbent and usually needs to be taken with food. Always but calcium citrate!

    On the quest bars... I leave mine in the hot car and its warm and soft and for a protein bar it was pretty yummy!! I was looking on their website and they sell no carb noodles one is like a pesto fettuccine and was was a regular spaghetti noodle, might try them and see how they taste!

    Yes GNC and The Vitamin Shoppe will both take back opened containers of all their products. I have found that mixing my choc protein with 3 oz of liquid then adding that to my decaf coffee really helps masks the taste of the protein.

    Frustrated w/ Slow Loss

    Stalls are very normal !! The last time I lost weight was the 1st week in July... I usually stall every 2 weeks then loose then stall... This had been my longest stall yet but I know eventually I will loose again... I think that u are doing just fine in your weightloss!!! Try adding a bit more protein and less carbs and try upping your excercise.

    Hanging stomach/depressed!

    When I started loosing alot my stomach started to "hang" for the first time ever in my life... I was mortified!!! As time went on and I continued to loose weight and do my ab work it slowly went back into place... It's not perfect by no means but there is no handy anymore.... Just give it time , you never know what it will look like later!

    I must be one of the lucky ones... I have never gotten sick since surgery! If I eat too fast I might feel sick to my stomach or get heartburn when I'm sleeping but that's it

  24. I'm still hoping in time it does go away.. I will keep u posted and updated! I have an appt with my Neuro on aug 8th and will let you know how that goes!
  25. I am in love with plain roasted almonds and was very happy to learn that I could eat them post op in moderation.,. Usually I eat them everyday about 5-6 small ones! It's not enough to do much damage calorie wise but just enough to satisfy me!
