Don't worry. No one is perfect. Just do your best from now until your surgery. You will be amazed after your band is in how much better you will feel and how much less food is an issue. I worried too, but I know it is the best thing I have ever done for myself!

I was just banded and it is GREAT! You can do this. I feel so good and it is nice to NOT be able to eat to NOT have food control my life!

Thanks! I always thought there was some link there. I used to drink Diet Drinks all the time and I seemed to gain weight!

Congrats! I was just banded in Mexico too and had a great experience! It is so great knowing we are starting a new way of life!

I just went to Dr. Rodriguez in Monterrey, MX and just loved him. I just got back and my experience was great! There are so many wonderful doctors in Mexico, you just have to find the right one for you!

I did tell my family and most of them were very supportive because they have seen my weight struggles. Coworkers/ friends I have told have given me mixed reactions. My friends that have stuggled with their weight have been the least supportive believe it or not! I am amazed you have gone two years without telling anyone. I bet your family would be supportive if you told them though, especially with your weightloss! I think people who aren't supportive seem to think that the band is the easy way out and it just so isn't. It is hard work to lose weight, the band just allows us to keep it off. Good luck with your decision!

Maybe we could brainstorm some dates/ places.

I just wanted to say thanks for all of the welcomes and congratulations to everyone that has had their bands so far. Those of you with upcoming dates-I am so happy for you. :clap2: Just for a good laugh- I was talking to a coworker/ friend (granted she is very thin) and she just asked me "Is the band automatic? Will the weight just all drop off in a few weeks"I just wish I could drop 140 pounds in a few weeks! I guess some people just have no idea how the lapband works. It seemed like she just thought I was going to come back 100 pounds less or something. Oh well- I started to laugh, but it hurt!

Hi- I am from Katy, Texas and I went to Monterrey to have my band too. My doctor was great, so I have no regrets. I am so thankful to be home.

My insurance had an exclusion, so I went to Mexico and it was a great experience. I did do lots of research before I went. Try the insurance section because when I was trying to get approved through my insurance, I read lots of posts there that were helpful. Good luck and find a way to make this happen for yourself, even if you can't get insurance coverage. It is SO worth it!

Hello Everyone! I was just banded Monday and I am so amazingly happy that I have my lapband. It looks like we have a pretty big group of Lucky Sevens. I look forward to getting to know you all!!!!
