1.
I get my fills done under flouro. I really think that has helped me get the right restriction. Plus, I MAKE myself workout three times a week. NO EXCEPTIONS! By the way- I showed up (granted I was an hour late) at Los Tios and I didn't see anyone on Monday! Are we meeting anymore?????

2. I agree with the later start time! The traffic over there is just CRAZY!
3. Does you doctor use flouro? I have had good restriction b/c my doctor uses it and can see how much restriction I have. I wish you all the best and don't give up! You will get restriction at some point and then the pounds will come off.
4. I used Dr. Arturo Rodriguez in Monterrey, MX and he and his staff we fantastic. He will even take calls from you on his cell phone if he is not in surgery and answers any questions you may have. I would highly recommend him. Don't worry about going to Mexico. If you find the right doctor, you will be very well taken care of and actually get to start living your life! I don't regret for one second getting my band. It was the best decision I have ever made for myself. Good Luck!!

Hello from Houston

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f64/wanting-start-houston-westchase-katy-highway-6-support-group-37183/ Hey there! I am from Houston, too. I know what you mean about the Diet Dp. I was a Diet DP addict too, but amazingly I have given it up and have never felt better. We just started a LBT Houston Support group that meets once a month. (Click on the link above) We would LOVE to have you! We have all stages of banding -pre and post op. We meet the first Monday of the month (except in Sept due to Labor Day- we will meet the 2nd Mon) at The Los Tios and Memorial and Kirkwood. Anyone is welcome. We had such a great time last month!!! It really does help to have a support group!:clap2: Hope to see you there!
6. I get my fill next week so I will let you know how it goes. It doesn't look that bad!

12 Year Old Gets Lapband

I think it is great she is making the choice now to solve the problem. If I could have had a band at that age, I would have to prevent myself from getting to almost 300 pounds. I actually had my surgery at the same hospital in Monterrey she did and my doctor was wonderful and caring. I feel any emotional issues she will have dealing with a band are worth avoiding the emotional torture of being an obese teenager.
8. Here is the video clip of a fill I was telling you about for those of us who have yet to have one yet. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeqBAlpWmHU]YouTube - Lap Band Fill Adjustment[/ame]
9. The pics are so funny! Especially all the chips we didn't eat! I had a blast. Can't wait till next time. If you weren't able to make it, I hope you can next time. Becky:clap2:
10. Hi all, I am going to try my best to make it. I am a teacher and my school is having a work day tomorrow to plan for the upcoming year. I am hoping to get out early enough to be there. I really want to meet everyone!
11. I actually a little bit of pain when I swallow certain foods (mostly breads) followed by this uncompfortable feeling in my throat/ chest. I agree, you will know!!! Your band will tell you. That is the great thing about it!:whoo::whoo:

Finally my turn!

Congrats and Welcome! You will love having a band!:clap2:
13. I felt miserable too the first two days after surgery. Walking was the best cure for me, along with the liquid Tylenol. Just take it day by day. It isn't easy, but you will feel better each day. When you see the scale go down it will be all worth it!!! I promise! Hang in there- The pain will all be worth it soon!
14. Hey Munchkincan, Glad your surgery went well. Welcome to Bandland! I think the meeting room is a great idea. Is the traffic crazy at that time over there?
15. I felt the same way, exactly! I am so ready for my 1st fill, too. It will get better when you move to mushies. I started going back to the gym and that has seemed to help me not think about food so much. Especially when you see how hard you must work to burn off all those calories you eat!
16.

I guess I was just thinking that most coffee shops are small and mostpeople usually sit outside there. I am completely fine with anyplace! No, I don't like the heat!

Banded Teachers Talk - BTT

Oh the dreaded back to school luncheons!!! I am so nervous about that too! I think I may keep a Slim Fast shake in my purse just in case there is nothing lap band friendly. I have decided to tell my team, and I told my AP. My skinny co-workers crack me up. One thought that I would lose all the weight in a couple of months automatically. I wish! I already made a big mistake of eating a subway sandwich at a workshop last week. Horrible Idea- the bread felt stuck all afternoon and I was miserable. Then it was one of those jump around and move workshops where you have to discuss things with other people. I almost died! Enjoy what is left of summer! Bec
18. Or if there is a restaurant that has a good patio anyone knows of where we could sit and talk- Monday sounds good!
19. Going back the the bypass, I have a friend who had it done 3 years ago. She has started gaining weight back and she told me her stomach has stretched, so she can eat a lot now. After talking with her, I knew the band would be better for me because I could have it adjusted. I LOVE MY BAND!
20. One thing that has helped me is logging in my calories each day. (It is free on a website called FitDay). I made me see how sometimes I was eating too many calories and it has made me accountable. Heather- I went to Tickerfactory and made my chart, then I right clicked to copy it. I go to UserPC, and paste the picture into my signature directly (I don't use those little links at the bottom). I hope that will help you!
21. Mondays would be good for me, too. Anyone that sets a date, I will be there!

Bad news from my doctor

That is just not right for someone who is not banded to tell you that, let alone a doc!!!! The band is a tool, you do have to do your work, too. The band keeps you from overeating and as long as you don't cheat (drinking with your meals, not stopping when you first feel full, etc.), you will lose the weight you want! If you think about it, the majority of LBT loves their bands and there is a reason for that! I wish you the best!

Living with lapband diet

I was just banded a couple of weeks ago and I feel that getting down to a healthy weight is way more important than if the skin is on the fruit or not. If you are exericising and eating well, I'm sure that eliminates just as many of the cancer risks. You could get a food processor and chop/ blend the skins if it you really wanted to. I hope your banding goes well!
24. Welcome! You were banded the same day as me! I hope things are going as great for you as they are for me-:clap2:
