Trouble Sleeping due to coughing and PBing
bubblebelly replied to hazE24's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
me too, it is almost like choking on your own spit. -
what about taco soup? I put kidney beans, chili beans, hamburger meat, canned tomatoes, hominy, taco seasoning, dry ranch mix, you can make it as soupy as you want, mine is usually almost the consistancy of goulash. Very good and lots of protein.

Trouble Sleeping due to coughing and PBing
bubblebelly replied to hazE24's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My guess is acid reflux. I wake at all hours of the night coughing with an acidy taste in my throat and mouth. Try raising the head of your bed a few inches so your head is well above your stomach. This should help and that will tell you if it is acid reflux, then you will probably need to take meds for it. -
That is what it sounds like to me. I was hypoglycemic before kids, then when i was preg with daughter it turned to gestational diabetis, afterward the larger i got the worse it was, I turned to insulin resistant but I am happy to say i am off Metformin, but I have to watch because it drops low fast now if i do not eat enough protein. I know that feeling and I hate to have it. Go to the doctor and check, then you can adjust diet accordingly. GOOD LUCK

Should I ask the doc for Metformin/Glucophage?
bubblebelly replied to AppleSmith1226's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
A lady I used to work with took Metformin and low and behold after just 2 months got prego, so she absolutely swears by it!! Not sure about the hair problem though. -
I had acrylic nails and they took the polish off one of my pointer fingers, it was no big deal.

An awesome blossom is just that.....AWESOME!!!, but that is part of the reason we have bands now. It is a huge onion that has the top cut off and then kinda peeled down to look like a flower kinda like a mum, then it is dipped in a great seasoned batter and then fried. They are basically onion rings but 100 times better, then you dip them in a ranch or cajun type dressing. They are great but wow i had no idea the calories and fat.

Dr Daniel Huacuz He Is Inamed Certified
bubblebelly replied to lucartwlucy's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I love to come here and read these things, there are some people on here (mainly two) that would disagree with a fence post. And you can always bet when one posts the second one is right behind her posting and backing her up like a doctor backing a nurse. You guys crack me up!!! Thanks for the laughs. -
Dr Daniel Huacuz He Is Inamed Certified
bubblebelly replied to lucartwlucy's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
It is NOT true that he gives his patients a password and ID to OH. He never mentioned that website to me nor this one. He did say if I would like to comment on his website to call and he could set me up to do so. Each person has their own opinions on doctors. I have had no problems and my fill doctor in Dallas, Tx. said it was a very well placed band. I think there is no reason to continue to bash him as every one that had a good experience has a good opinion of their doctor and every one that had a bad one has a bad opinion of their doctor. If there is so many bad reviews out there let them speak for themselves. -
I like Isopure fruit flavored ones. If you want one that does not have the creamy, milky taste, try these. They have some that taste like cool-aid. I like all the flavors, grape, apple, orange, fruit punch. I just drink these instead of my crystal light about once a day. I do not know the calorie content right off hand but it is not bad and they have 40g of protein. They are the best i have tried.

Dr Daniel Huacuz He Is Inamed Certified
bubblebelly replied to lucartwlucy's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I was banded 9/20/07 by Dr. Huacuz and I honestly do not think anything could have gone better. He never told me he did not have 0% complication rate. I spoke with him on the phone about this before I went and also when I was waiting on the surgery. As far as him working all day at another hospital and then doing surgery, it certainly was not the case the day I was there. The driver had us there by 11:00 and he was in the lobby when we walked in, he came back to show us the band and answer any questions around 2:00 and then I was in sugery about 4:30 so there is no way he was at another place working. There was a mother/daughter there when we were and the daughter had surgery the year before and brought her mother to him to have surgery and that said a lot to me. I had his cell phone number for 24 hour access and I have used it at 1:00 am when I got home, he answered right off, told me what to do, then told me to call him in 1 hour and I fell asleep so I did not call him back but he called me the very next morning to see how I was. I know that every doctor has horror stories and nobody is perfect, but I would not hesitate to refer anyone to him and I have no problem going to him for plastic surgery because I have seen his work and I thought it was a mighty fine job. He may not be a plastic surgeon but I have seen surgery by plastic surgeons that were not as well as his. I think there are people one here that believe their doctor is the only doctor and I am glad they were pleased with their doctor but I too am pleased with mine. I also think there are people on here that just want to argue for the sake of arguing. Bottom line do your research and chose who you feel is best for you. Take all comments good and bad with a grain of salt. Good Luck with banding. -
YOU LOOK WONDERFUL!!!! Don't delete the pic, it is an inspiration. That is amazing how well you look so soon after. Great job.

I would be interested in getting together. I live a couple of hours away but get in fills in dfw area, and I think the best time for me would be weekends and am open to the place.

*** Protein Powder *** (Gross)
bubblebelly replied to arizonalisa1967's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree the only ones i will drink is the isopure. I have been buying it pre mixed in the bottles and you get 40 grams of protein in one bottle. I like the apple/watermelon but i have not tasted a bad one. Has anyone tried the powder in the clear kind not the choc/van/straw, i want fruity ones, and if so does it mix well with water? -
FYI: I finally found a protein powder I LOVE!!!
bubblebelly replied to MamaJava's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
all star health sells the same size for 27.75 or 49.95 for the double size with 5.95 flat shipping no matter how many you buy. Supplement warehouse has the small one for 29.95 but they advertise that they beat an advertised price by 5% so you may check that out. Either way it is much cheaper than GNC. -
I think you would be unhappy with anything smaller than a D, since you have had large ones all your life. And a D is not small but they will be WAAAYY smaller than what you have so you should see a world of differance there..GOOD LUCK

Port Incision Draing Blood
bubblebelly replied to lcreyno's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would definetly think this is not normal. Maybe a little drainage but not saturation. I would have this checked out further. Good luck!! -
I thought I would be off by the time I had surgery, but of course it just had to linger a little longer. I was not flowing heavy but they would not let me wear anything and yes I bled, which is embarrasing but I guess they are most likely used to it. The surgery will most likely make you bleed more anyway with the meds and such.

I throw up *multiple* times every day...
bubblebelly replied to butterball's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I do not throw up every single day but some times I throw up several times in one day. At times there are times that I will throw up 2-3 times in one meal. I think I have discovered that I am eating tooooo fast, and too big of bites. I decided today that I am working real hard on that one. I go back to the dr. Jan 21 so we will see what I am looking at then. -
Silly as it sounds, that may not be a bad thing. Then the insurance can see that it is not possible for you to lose and keep it off. If it were possible would any of us need bands?

Effexor XR 150 mg-can I swallow??
bubblebelly replied to jmschnapf's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor checked with the pharmacist and decided I can open them and put them in pudding, applesause or ect. and take them that way. It has worked out fine for me but sometimes I can swallow them fine, depends on what time of the day it is. -
Are fills painful? Banded 2 weeks ago!
bubblebelly replied to Nick the Nurse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not trying to scare you but I have only had one fill and it hurt like h*ll. It may be because I have lots and lots of stomach fat. That is where I carry the big portion of fat. I don't know but it felt really deep and like he was going through a thick piece of leather. There may be quite a bit of scar tissue there. I am not sure but it does make me apprehensive for another fill but I will definetly have it done. -
The code for bodybugg on 24 hour fitness is BCL24 and that will get you $50.00 off.

How do you "doctor" your cottage cheese?
bubblebelly replied to crikkit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Add sugar free jello (just the dry powder), and cottage cheese, cool whip and pineapples. It is yummy. I like orange jello the best but some eat cherry jello.
