I am 8 weeks out ... First 5 weeks I had nothing but pain and puking' Had the upper GI they said all looked fine .... I knew something wasn't right!! Finally got EGD and I had a structure they couldn't even pass the scope down. They did dilate and I had my second EGD with dilatation this week. I have to go back in 4 weeks for my third. Apparently my stricture is bad.... Just frustrating! Things were better after 1st EGD but two weeks later I could tell pills were getting stuck again So fat after this second one I had on Tuesday seems to be ok but for now... The Gi doc said the stricture usually closes some so that's why they have to keep dilating it so eventually it stays open enough! Amy Amy ~ Gastric Bypass Surgery 2/4/13 @ 270 lbs.. I make smoothies with fresh fruit / veggies or frozen fruit , Greek yogurt and milk and have never had any issues with dumping. It's been a great way to get these nutrients in. Headed to hospital for upper GI. My surgery date 2/4/13. Just a few days ago I have been having problems with the puréed foods I had been eating or even Jello. It is causing pain and nausea . Even Water is starting to hurt to drink. Called the surgeon yesterday and he scheduled me for test today.... Praying for answers. I just want to be "normal" again... I went to the surgeon for the exact pain you are describing.. It kills me to Stand or sit. They told me they do a deep stitch in the muscle in a right figure 8 stitch. Also the nerves have been cut and are now rejuvenating and that is causing pain too. I went to see the doctor because of the pain. It hurts SO bad!! I'm glad it's normal and I'm not the only one. I'm Amy! I had surgery on Monday and came home from hospital Saturday.... I had my first crying meltdown today of why did I i do this?!? I HATE Protein shakes... My nutritionist is not the greatest .... When did u all start the purée part of diet ? How many weeks out ? I think once I can do that I'll feel better... I know on my paper during that stage I can purée chicken with light mayo. Any advice is very welcomed!! Amy
