Not doing to well!
ECUJenn replied to his_only_mrs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't give you too much advice being that I am only 4 weeks post op except don't give up! Have you tried using MyFitnessPal to track what you are eating? Maybe something has hidden calories or fat in it? I know this week when I was shopping I found myself only looking at Protein content and picked up a couple of things that definitely aren't low sugar or fat. You have done great so far! Keep your head up! HW 344, DOS 320, Surgery Date 2/20/13, CW 297.5 Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk -
Let me start by saying I have my post op appointment on April 1st so will talk to my doctor about this too, but I trust you all and wanted your opinions also. I returned to North Carolina in August from a year in Hollywood as a missionary and while out there I fell in love with Community Supported Agriculture/farmers markets etc and decided this is something I want to incorporate into my life here as well. I have been looking for 6 months and finally found a local farm that will deliver just harvested vegetables to my house every other week for a great price. What worries me is that i won't be able to eat a lot of veggies? We focus so much on Protein I was wondering if anyone is able to focus primarily on vegetables? Does Bcbs Pays For Cosmetic Sx?
ECUJenn replied to Yodelania's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My BCBS sent me a letter prior to surgery that said, while we approved you for bariatric surgery you should know in advance that we will not cover any cosmetic surgery resulting from subsequent weight loss. It made me laugh, but I won't always have that insurance HW 344, DOS 320, Surgery Date 2/20/13, CW 297.5 Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk -

One day back in gen pop (work) and sick already
ECUJenn posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
*sigh* so I went back to work yesterday for the first time since surgery on 2/20 and I came home last night with a sore throat. I figured it was because I spent the majority of the day on the telephone and I wasn't used to talking that much, but this morning it woke me up hurting so bad. Everyone at work picks on me for being a germaphobe, but seriously! I live with my Mom and she had bronchitis for two months and I avoided it, but one day back with these people and I am sick? Dang it. Hoping that a Tylenol will knock this out, but truly just irritated HW 344, DOS 320, Surgery Date 2/20/13, CW 302 Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk -
Trouble after Surgery with kidney stones...
ECUJenn replied to Harwood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had stones since surgery last month, but have them before and the dr. Said then if you can handle kidney stones you can handle labor. Now, I don't have any children, but I trust him. Hang in there, but they are super painful. I hope they find some meds soon that you can tolerate! HW 344, DOS 320, Surgery Date 2/20/13, CW 302 Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk -

Protein powder need a new brand
ECUJenn replied to copmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had exactly the same problem, but I just tried the Click decaf espresso. I put it in my Magic Bullet with Water and ice and blended it into a Frappe style drink and it is the first thing that I was able to comfortably choke down. I start taking gall stone meds on march 15. Approximately, 3 weeks post op. They hope that it will help to prevent the formation of gallstones since the can form due to quick weight loss. I don't have the meds upstairs, but if I think about it I will post the name tomorrow. Btw...it was part of my post op med list. I have had a lot of trouble with Protein since surgery. Liked almost all of the ones I tried pre op so wasn't anticipating the ick factor post op. however, someone on this board recommended the chocolate and vanilla with decaf coffee and that has been helping me a lot. Also, bariatrics kitchen has hot chocolate mixes that are pretty good. I have also been getting down about it though, but we can't give up. We have worked too hard to get here! I get so frustrated because when I am feeling good I try to do more. For example, I went for a walk yesterday and I was feeling so good that I went twice as far as I had been going. I was so excited! Then, the minute I got back to my house I crashed. Felt like absolute poo. I barely had the energy to do anything. Now, 24 hours later I still feel gross. Lethargic, almost to the point of nausea. I ate some Breakfast, but I really have some things I want to do today, but it doesn't feel like it is going to happen. I feel really down about it and extremely worried about when it comes time to go back to work. I'm also frustrated because I had made peace with Protein shakes before surgery and now, I can barely choke down 1/2 of one before I am so sick. Ugh...it's going to be one of those days. Lol Thankfully, tomorrow is a new day. HW 344, DOS 320, Surgery Date 2/20/13, CW 308 Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk
