Well once u lose ur job immediately go online to dept of social services or health and human services, depending on your state and apply for insurance. You can do this the same day. Put unemployed due to layoff. No income and do not include your spouse if u have one. Include children if you have them and anyone living in home w you as a resident. Also, u need to include recent surgery requiring frequent follow ups affecting your quality of life.... Also throw in any other health conditions. Get a letter from your surgeon and any other dr u have explaining high need for quality of life and best survival post op..... I use to work for state healthcare..... Good luck!
