Thanks so much. I'm told that some put you to sleep and some give you a sedative to just calm the nerves. We are obviously tough, or we wouldn't be planning to do what we are planning to do!!!

Good luck tomorrow. Ironically, I'm more nervous about this part than the surgery! Lol I'm afraid ill start gagging- I have a very sensitive gag reflex!!

I was wondering if anyone had trouble with Laparscopic after having c-sections? I read a couple people ended up with open surgery due to the scarring. I've had 3 c- sections and I'm worried about this. I just want to see if anyone else has had luck with the lap?

I look forward to hearing how well your surgery went! Mine is on the 8th!

Please help me with protein!

Jillian Michaels Whey protein - chocolate- is really good. Downside is it only has 15g of protein so you would have to have more in a day. -
I'm happy my family's story helps you- I know it brings me comfort when listening to the negative reactions of some. I never understood why some feel its necessary to share third party horror stories!

My surgeon is not requiring me to be on a liquid diet before surgery; just a low fat diet the week before surgery. Then I have to fast 12 hours before surgery. I'm wondering why I don't, but so many of you do????

He is doing great! He checks in with the cardiologist, but they are amazed at how well he is functioning now. He has more heart function than before the surgery.

I'm new to the forums, but I have a surgery date set for March 8. Like everyone else, nervous, but excited at the same time. I look forward to going through the process with people who are going through it too. For all the people that have told you the terrible gastric stories about WLS and how people gain it back-- Both my sister and my father have had the RNY and both Are doing fabulous. My sister is a size 4 (baggy) and lives a normal life with small food quantities. My father was dying from congestive heart failure, but told him this surgery might save his life, or at least buy him some time. My sister is 6 years post op and my dad is 4! My dad is now hiking and cycling!
