Fabulous February Post-Op's
chrissy61483 replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well surgery date was 2/25 I was 275lbs. 8.5 months out and down 118lbs and stalled and I think I'm ok with that for now. I weight 157lbs and am in a size 13/14 pants down from a tight 24 and my tops down from a 2-3x to a medium/large depending. I wear dresses and heels regularly now which would have never happened before. I would love to be in a smaller pants size but my baby pooch under my belly button doesn't want to go away. I'm sad my poor boobs are no more at least for me. I went from a 40D to a 36C push-up bra lol When we get our family pictures back this weekend I will post the October last year and the ones from October this year. Congrats on everyone with all your success. I'm very proud of all of us. HW 275 Pre RNY 256 Goal 150 Current 158 -

This roller coaster of a life we now live on has so many small victories and some things that should be considered them when they just make me sad lol. For example my clothes keep getting smaller, I buy some that fit and the next month I need the next size down. Am I complaining on losing the weight, heck no, but my husband and our bank account defiantly are. I realized my bras that I love and worship from Victoria Secret no longer are they working miracles they are performing a horrible disservice to me. They are a 38D and I loved that part of my body.....I realized I will be working and the girls needed better fitting support....check in at a 36C...I shed a tear. My first bra In middle school was a 38C. They are vanishing like the rain forests. Endangered. Plus side I do have my first real job out of the house since basically 2005 and it's kicking my ass. My back and feet hurt so much, but on top of all that there is the wrist pain from shattering my wrist last May. I am supposed to lose for another 10 months before I should be where I want to be and that scares the hell out of me since I a 8lbs from being there now and still can hardly eat to balance my diet. I never want to be waifer thin...it's just not me. More often than not I look in the mirror knowing I have lost 117lbs in 8 months and am proudly wearing my size 13/14 jeans and my medium/large tops but standing sideways I still feel like I look like I'm in my size 24s and 2-3x shirts. Happy happy days and other I'm just stares t myself like has an change really been made when I know deep down it has been huge. -

These are my before and current photos. I was 275 in the bigger ones February 24th the night before surgery. The smaller photos of me is 110lbs down and currently 165. My goal is 150. I went from a size 24 pants and now am in between 11/14 depends on the jeans. Shirts went from a Maurice's 2/3 to now a large. It's so strange seeing a different person heck even my shoe size has went from a 9 to an 8. Go figure life is so weird lately. -
I have horrible knees, both have been operated on and both need it again. Last year I shattered my wrist and was taking Zipsor daily for anti inflammatory issues....it was the only thing that worked and Percocet for the constant pain. They flat out told me I had to stop forever that the risk of ulcers were to high so they put me on that gel that was mentioned....for me it didn't work but finding anything that does it almost impossible so I'm sure I'm the 1%. On the upside I can still take my Percocet it was either crush the pills and mix it, which made me gag every time or switch to liquid which works just as we'll if not better. They don't like to prescribe it that way because it would be very easy to abuse but after surgery your family doctor shouldn't have any issues since you now have a valid reason for the pills not being a fun/comfortable option. I wish you the best.

I started out at 275 made it to 256 the day of surgery. Surgery was 2/25 and since than I am down to 189. My goal is more fluid than most I suppose. I told myself I would consider anything between 200-150 good. I met the goal of 200 by my birthday and set a new goal of 175 by the time my kids start school at the end of August. I suppose I have done a good job losing the weight, but here is where my problem lies. My mom and sister both weigh 189 and 188 and standinf next to them at the 4th of July I still feel like I look double their size. I don't know if this is acuate or just in my head but its very hard to be proud of a number if I can't see it when I can compare myself to people of the same weight and feel like I am no where near their sizes. Granted yes I was wearing a tight 24 at surgery and now am in 17/18 bottoms and a 16/18 swimsuit but when I look at pictures of me with them I still see huge me. They still see huge me. I honestly don't know if its all in my head or if it is how it really is. Anyone else having this issue? I went to the movie theater with my husband and it was driving me crazy smelling it and not being able to handle it. That and salads...I sant one so badly and I actually just lost my insurance so I can't go see my surgeon and ask him this stuff soo any input would be amazing. Thank you guys in advance. -

I had my surgery the 25th and was released the 28th. I never had major problems with nausea or anything my problem is something I haven't eard anyone mention and now i wonder if I am broken....I had a penrose drain on the left side that was in til right before I went out the door. Now that area almost reminds me of my grandmas colostomy if I move in anyway it feels like I have a 5lb weight pulling on that spot. It kills to Sit, stand, turn, roll over, you name it. That and my back is soo sore it feels like I was smashed in the middle of my back with a baseball bat. Other than that I burp and poop all the time and hiccups hurt like crazy...is this normal or am I broken? -
Monday February 25th is my surgery date, got it today.
