Cookouts
life_after_gastric_bypass replied to keefkeef1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be doing my first BBQ Saturday since surgery, I'll cook for everyone else the things they like... For myself I think I will grill fish, veggies or a turkey slider or bring some snow crabs and keep some fruits and things I like around just for me...(trust me, I wont be able to eat all of that... but those would be my options) -

life_after_gastric_bypass replied to gordonomas66's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome and congrats, I remember coming home and cooked for my family for the 1st time...I made ribs for them and cried when I poke the knife in the meat and it fell off the bone...(family was like wth??? and you are so right the food is always on tv...before I was addicted to cooking shows, (still am) but when I came home I just liked watching ppl eat because I couldn't. believe me it does get better:) -

life_after_gastric_bypass replied to fran's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I had my appointment, he just wanted to make sure I had after care, I knew what I was getting into, was I educated enough on WLS....don't worry...just keep a positive mind -
how did you tell friends and family.
life_after_gastric_bypass replied to kracinski's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not everyone agrees with WLS and most if not all are ready to judge and give you horror stories on why you shouldn't get the procedure. For myself my family knew and 2 of my friends who had the procedure. Only supporters of my friendship and my choices need to know, the rest well they see me loosing weight and if they ask how I have no problem telling them how I used WLS as a tool to my success Good luck -
I finally have a date!
life_after_gastric_bypass replied to kparadisek's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Don't be discouraged, the time will fly by so fast. just keep busy and continue to surf the boards and gain more knowledge of what your doing. Start preparing yourself for cleaner eating habits and tracking your food intake with a app like my fitness pal, and learn from those who have had the wls... hearing and seeing about other people will make your more excited and soon it will be your turn...GOOD luck to you -

(safe foods is what I call it...) *sighs* the things we go through now... don't be afraid to try new foods...just do it when your home first...(works for me -
