My name is Veronica, I'm a mother of 3 beautiful kids and I had Gastric Bypass on January 9, 2013. I used Gastric Bypass as a tool to lose weight. It has been the best decision of my life. My starting weight was 301lbs, so far I have lost 109lbs (as of 8/1/2013). Last year I survived a brain aneurysm and fell into a depression, was in a bad relationship, used food as as a comfort, my asthma was out of control, I was borderline diabetic not to mention the aches and pains I I had. and I also had sleep apnea. My health was suffering due to my over eating, my emotional eating, my binge eating and slowly it was destroying my life. Everyone has a turning point in their life when enough is enough. My turning point came when I realized God saved me from a brain aneurysm so I know I have a purpose to be here, so at this point I need to fight for my life and NOT leave my kids motherless. I spent the last 7 years of my life depressed. I hated looking in the mirror, taking pictures and I felt trapped in a body I hated. I no longer wanted to live like this.

As of today, I love who I am creating, a better me :) I am finding myself once again and life is getting better as we speak. I went from a size 32 to a size 12-14...I went from a 46dd to a 38d, I went from a size 11w to a size 9w.. I can actually look at myself in the mirror and enjoy the reflections I see. My asthma is in control, in fact it has been 7 months since I used my pump, I no longer have sleep apnea, no longer borderline diabetic and my aches and pains have disappeared. My journey is far from over but I am enjoying every moment of it. My quality of life is so much better today.

I had a couple of obstacles in the beginning (hematoma, and needed 3-4 endoscopes) now things are better....this is not a easy way out but it will and can help with weight loss.

I now go to the same hospital and clinics and I speak to others on my journey and is tell them the ups and downs...and help them along the way...best feeling in the world.

My only regret about Gastric Bypass is I did not do it sooner!
