I just wanted to show off some pictures from my December 27th wedding! Having weight loss surgery really changed my life. My husband has been with me through thick and thin....litterally. I just asked him the other night if he would still love me if I would get fat again and he said, "yes, but you know you wouldn't love yourself". He knows me so well!!

missysue replied to LVguy15's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm in the same boat as you are right now. I had surgery Aug of 2013 and this is the first time that I feel like my appetite is completely back. I agree with you, exercise is key!! I wanna follow you thread to see if you get any more good advise:) -

What fitness related EVENT are you training/preparing for?

Just completed my 1st half marathon!! -
This wasn't addressed to me but I can answer with a resounding YES!!! Try the couch to 5k program. It's all over the Internet and there are lots of apps (I used get running). It has you do walk/run intervals and build your way up. When I started I thought I was gonna DIE running 20 seconds. But just push through. Repeat days or weeks if you need to to feel more comfortable. I did couch to 5k about 15 months ago and just ran my first FULL marathon Sunday. Ran the whole 26.2 miles! I was never a runner--heck in HS I was one of the girls walking and chatting at the back of the pack in PE. If I can do it you can!!' I also started with the c25k program. I took it very slow. I also found that running outside was a much better option for me. I pushed myself further and further each time. I keep looking back on where I was and it hasnt even been a year since I started running. I am signed up for my 1st half marathon in july and have not ever felt this healthy or strong in my entire life. Good luck to you and hopefully you can post one of these pics someday!!!

Never thought I would ever RUN a 5k, especially under 30 min. But here I am with a PR of 26 min 17 sec and winning 3rd place overall female. If I can do it....anyone can!!!

I am 18 months out from surgery and 146 lbs down. My dietician told me to stick to 1200 calories, I also workout quite a bit. Congrats on your success!! Those last 20 will come off...they are the hardest!! -

Ran the Turkey trot 5k today in Erie! Finished in 27 min 8 sec. Shaved almost 2 min off my last time. Didn't feel so bad eating a bigger dinner
