Hey, at least you got the aprroval!! Congrats!! Youve waited this long, a few more weeks will fly by! Good luck to you!!

The only thing I really have been doing is eating healthier and watching my portions. I still have something if i want it, just WAY less! I cant exercise right now due to bad back issues so that doesnt help. Even walking is hard after working all day. Since I am at the heigher weight, tthe pounds always come off fast at first and then I plateau which is where I am at right now. Have you tried eating the pre made meals, Smart Ones, and the like? I found that having the portions ready, it was easier. I know that what is there, is all I can have! Good luck! I will add you to our April list as well!

Congrats for getting your date!! I will change the list! YAY!!

I have lost 40 so far pre-op. I am watching what I eat for the most part and having one protein shake in the morning. I usually dont eat breakfast, but was told I should, so I think this is the perfect time for a shake. I am also eating things that I want "one last time" and dont feel bad about it. After having food be such a huge part of my life for so long, I dont want to regret the surgery because I am craving things. I have to keep this in check because I do have one more weigh in on the 27th and have a goal that I want to hit before then. I find it is getting easier for me to curb the cravings because I know the surgery is coming and I want to make sure that there is NO reason that the surgeon may decide to postpone it! I think the 20lbs you lost is great and I wouldnt stress so much about eating the things you want. Just watch it the rest of the day and get back on the wagon the next day! After surgery, we wont physically be able to eat so much, so I feel this will get better! Keep at it Wendilou!!

Doing it as we speak! Welcome Jeannette! Nerves are normal, but think about the outcome and that should help! I will add you to our list!

Welcome to the group. I will add you to the list. I agree with you on how fast the time seems to be going. I made a ticker in my phone to count down when it was 54 days away. Today it said 36 and it seemed like "WOW" to me. Cant wait! You share your date with 2 others in our group(so far) and the three of you will be the first to "report" back to us that will be waiting!

I sure will and WELCOME to the group!

Welcome mavourneen! I know what you mean about co-workers! I work in a physical therapy department and EVERYONE, including the boss and front desk people are into exercise and they are ALL fit! I am the only overweight person! They are all fairly nice, with exceptions , and have never made me feel as the odd man out. It is embarrassing to work there with all of them at times tho. I have had severe issues with my back and meet with a surgeon a few weeks ago. He said I do need surgery to fix the problem, but thought having the WLS first would be the best way to go. I will then have my back "fixed" this summer. As for the shakes, have your tried any?? I have ordered ALOT of samples, and tried several different brands. I HATE Muscle Milk! I LOVE Atkins Advantage Mocha Latte. I am also fond of CHIKE brand coffee drinks. They taste so good and are loaded with protein. Several websites allow you to order samples, such as MyBariatricPanty.com, and unjury.com. I really like nasuanutrition.com because they have alot of different brands and flavors you can choose from for $1.95 each. Very good service as well. I am planning on taking a month off as well, providing that is what my Dr says. I keep forgetting to ask him this! I too work at a desk, but I want to get a routine down, and feel good before I try to go back. As long as Short term will pay, why not!! Best of luck!

Welcome to the April group!! I will add you to the list! You dont have to tell your work what you are having done if you dont want too. Just say that you are taking a medical leave. Even the HR department doesnt have to know. The doctor just has to complete the paperwork, and say it for a medical condition. They dont have to put on the form that it is WLS. I am only choosing to tell a few people at work, but you know how that goes! Before long it will probably be all over the department. I am not embarassed, but feel I only want to share my journey with a select few. I cant believe how lucky some of you are with having such a short time from start of the journey to surgery! Dang I wish mine went that fast. Anyway, welcome and I look foward to sharing this with you!
