    What ya eating tonight?

Made what I'm calling chicken stew for supper. Sliced up chicken breasts, potatoes, carrots, onion, and added green beans and corn. Threw it all in crockpot with cream of chicken and cream of celery soup, then thickened with cornstarch. Just had a little taste and it is sooo good. Perfect supper on a cool and rainy day here in Wisconsin!

You can use water, milk, or broth. Just enough to mash them smooth

My surgery date was April 22. I think my loss is on track. We eat so little of it that I don't think it hinders the loss. It goes down good and tastes good too. It is in my plan too.

This is still my favorite meal. I eat it a lot when I don't feel like making anything. Glad you got something that satisfied you. If you didn't do that once in awhile, I think we'd really regret the surgery!

  9. Just did little research on what some of us are feeling. It is called hibernation syndrome. It usually occurs 2 to 4 weeks after surgery. It is the body`s reaction to the smaller amounts of food we are eating. It causes us to feel tired, lethargic and depressed. The body wants to slow way down until the old food supply returns. Starting to exercise gets the body used to using the fat as energy. The site says to seek help if the conditions last more than 8 weeks. See? What we are feeling is totally NORMAL! Don't worry anyone, we can do this! Best wishes to all! www.alinahealth.org
  10. Glad we could all help. Gonna check that website too! My family is all eating healthy, for the most part, so we all eat the same things. There are occasions where pizza is made and I stay away from that.
  11. I feel so bad for you. We are all going through a big life change. It is gonna take some time before we are comfortable with all of the changes. I feel the same way at times. I find my self watching my husband eat and just saying, "is that good?" I miss food too, and being able to eat whatever I want. By this time you should be able to eat most of what your family is eating, just in smaller amounts. What is your diet? Talking to someone wouldn't ever hurt, and if that's what you need to do, you should. Maybe someone on this site, who has been through it, can help you. Just know that you are not alone! Take care.

How'd the lettuce go? I had surgery the day before you, and I'm alittle scared to try lettuce. My dr said it was ok.
  13. Thanks Terry. Been dealing with this for years, and it is just getting so much worse. See the spine surgeon in June so we will see.

    Was it worth it?

I would say a big, definate YES! I feel so much more in control now and can't wait for the final results! A healthy future is in store for me!

Does anyone eat tofu?? I have never had it, and have been considering trying it. What is an easy way to make it?? And I mean easy. Not much of a cook. LOL

I would say to stick with soup, or steamed veggies. Chicken and broccoli can be good but most stuff has a lot of sodium. Shrimp is also another good choice. Boy could I go for some Lo mein with beef, shrimp, and chicken! It's called triple delight at our local Chinese place and it sure is! Crab Rangoon as well....I could go and on....yummy!
  17. Being a CNA is a very hard job! I did it for 20+ years and that is the reason my back is messed up. It gets harder the older we get. I switched jobs too cuz I just couldn't handle it. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

    Thanks for the advice!

    Vitamin Schedule

So I looked at this Vitamin, and it looks like it has everything I am supposed to take; B12, Iron, D3, and Calcium. So if I took one of these a day, it replaces all of the other pills I am taking?? Am I getting enough of everything then??
  20. First bout of vomiting today. I ate a morningstar veggie burger, about half, and it came up 10 minutes later . I also had diarrhea earlier today, so maybe it is a stomach bug. Got no food in today, and vomitted water as well. Not gonna hit protein or water! ;(
  21. I've had the nerves burned before, but they grow back I guess. I just want an end to this back pain. With losing weight, id like to be going for walks, or doing anything active for that matter. I can't even walk around the block. So you have back problems too?? I have had so many epidurals, and they don't even work anymore. He was gonna do an implant, but says it doesn't pay because with the condition of my back, ill need surgery soon.
