Nervous

I was so excited that I didn't sleep at all the night before. It is normal to be nervous but you will be soooo happy with the outcome, and the actual surgery becomes a distant memory! Best of luck to you!
2. Awesome job! Congrats girl!
3. Thanks for understanding! It is a daily unwelcome thing! I hate talking about it all the time but it DOES consume you when you are constantly dealing with it and hurting. I feel some don't understand, or think I use it as an excuse not to go out. ( My sister's) Who wants to go out and be around people when you are in pain and just want to lay down. I know it's important to not isolate myself but that IS what I tend to do when not feeling well. My grandmother was a bit of a hypochondriac, so I think some in my family compare me. They say you're getting to begin like grandma and never come to stuff. Hopefully they will never have to deal with chronic pain like I have for years. Anyway, thanks for being there and supporting me! Means a lot! LOVE and hugs!!
4. Saw the spine surgeon on Friday. He wants me to come back next month and have a ct to see if the bone is fused enough. He said 6 months is usually the mark where they can go back in. So I see him on the 15th next month and then will be able to set up surgery date I hope. He upped my abstention which makes me tired and have a hazy feeling. Hopefully the end is near. That's what I thought in November too. Anyway fingers crossed! Starting weight: 342 Surgery date: 4-22-13 Surgery weight: 303 Low weight: 199 Currently: 203 Total loss: 143 Size 28 to 14/16 Never-ending battle!! Hope everyone is doing great!
5. Hey all. Another gloomy day in WI! And a gloomy mood for me. Haven't seen the 199 mark again since that one Saturday. Weight has been between 202 and 204. Thinking this is where I am meant to be. Guess I will take it for now, cuz once my back is better and I can exercise, I plan on dropping 30 more!! I see the spine surgeon tomorrow and hope the fusion has completed so he can go in and get it fixed once and for all. Dealing with chronic pain FOR SO LONG has really taken its toll on me. I am ready to be well.
6. How awesome that you got some acknowledgement from your brother!! Bet it feels good to take your relationship in a different direction. Hope he finds ya someone handsome!! ???? Enjoy your spring break!
7. Hope you are feeling better now my friend! My wish is also for us to be happy, healthy, and stress free. We've all had plenty of crap and its time for some fun!!
8. That sucks! What are they doing to your eyes??
9. Happy Saturday! I'm in a big time rut lately. Hit the 199 mark and since then haven't seen it again. My weight fluctuates up as far as 204 no matter what I do. I've tried liquids a day, eating very healthy, and no snacking. Nothing seems to work. Cant wait to see the nutritionist so i can pick her brain. Wantednto lose at least 30 more and hope this isnt the end. Wish i could do some hard core exercising! Should have my year follow up appointment next month, but I have to wait to see what the spine surgeon says on Friday. Don't want to schedule appointment if I'll be having my second spine surgery. Been having a lot of pain again, and was up all high last night. I want this to all be over so I can get back to being me. Hope everyone is doing well!
10. Good job girl! Bet your husband like "this other woman"!
11. I always plan my meals for the week by what's on sale at the store. When the ad comes out, I plan. I also am a creature of habit and eat the same things most days. *I always have 2 cups of coffee in the morning. I don't do ANY soda anymore so I don't feel guilty with my coffee! ☺ * For breakfast I have a shake with protein powder, milk or yogurt, ice, and fruit. * Lunch is Greek yogurt with Bear Naked protein granola. 22 grams of protein and so good! * Another protein shake mid afternoon * Whatever is on the supper menu. Usually soup, fish or Turkey something. If what I make for the family isn't for me, I'll have a salad with cottage cheese, deli meat, or eggs. * any snacks throughout the day if needed are string cheese, yogurt or nuts * I also drink ALOT of water with crystal light. Lately my weight has been fluctuating so some days I will strictly do shakes and water just to kick my system into gear.
12. Sorry you have to work so hard! Sucks that the country can't get the pay right for jobs that deserve it! Seems like everyone is kinda moving on, and while that's OK, I miss ya all!! ????
13. Good news girl and looking good too!!
14. Congrats on the new house. That is exciting! Smoking is a hard thing to quit. I did after many tries and now I don't even miss it. Definitely not easy and I wish you luck! Seems like a lot of us are pretty much at a vstand still with the weight. Nearing the year mark and pretty much done losing I'm thinking. I hit 199 and then went up to 201 today. So f'ing frustrating!! Wanna be able to exercise and get these last 30 off. Hopefully after this next surgery, I'll be able to hit goal. Keep trying my friend!
15. Happy Friday to those of you who work! Have my 8 yr old nephew for a week and he had me up when it was still dark out! Gonna be a long week. No new news here, just trying to get these last 20 or 30 pounds off! Tomorrow will be 11 month from surgery. Seems so hard to believe! Hope ya all have a great weekend.
16. Glad they were able to help. Are you feeling better lately? Hope so! ????
17. A food scale is great post op.

Anyone having trouble with friends?

A true friend would be there to support how, no matter what. Not try to bring you down or hurt you. She is jealous and not a true friend. I had a friend who was my BFF. Once I had the bypass and didn't go out drinking, I realized she was more of a drinking buddy then a best friend. I have since had a back surgery and have another one coming up, and rarely hear from her. Sometimes you just have to do what's best for you and move on.

Hungry

You need to really stick to the portion sizes that the surgeon gives you. It takes awhile for the pouch to heal and for the receptors to work again. These tell you when you are hungry or full. The sensations you will feel post op will be different than before surgery and take awhile to get used to. To me, and many others I've heard of, hunger feels different post op. Once the pouch starts to heal, you will begin to feel full alot faster. Stick to the recommended amount of food and give your pouch time to heal. It does get easier.
20. Hope it didn't do any damage! I will admit that I chew gum occasionally too. Terrible, I know! :-)
21. I think we all feel this. It takes much longer for our brains to catch up! I also look at stuff and think "no way" and it fits. It is so weird to actually have choices when shopping instead of just having to o buy something because its the only thing that fits.
22. Happy Saturday all! And a happy one it is! I FINALLY hit onderland! Was beginning to think it wouldn't happen. Can't believe how a stupid number on a scale can make my day! Hope everyone is great.

protein shakes

Try Optimum Nutrition brand. I have tried several flavors and none have had the protein taste. They mix very well too. I get mine from amazon.

My Friday Routine- I'm scared

It is a very real fear that many of us have had. I truly believe that there comes a time when you are just "ready" to make the change and will not let anything stand in your way. Your desire to eat will change post op; you most likely will not be hungry, so avoiding those things you shouldn't have isn't always as hard as you think. There is also the very real fear of dumping. That alone has deterred me from eating many things, even though I may crave them. Alot of this is a mind game and you have to ready, and I believe, educated, for this to truly work. Best of luck to you!
