    Please stop asking me!

I have one co-worker who asks daily. I just keep saying," don't weigh daily so the same as last time you asked." Drives me bonkers.

    Tablets

I was taking meds in tablet and capsule form in the hospital the day of surgery but you should call your surgeon and ask. They are all different.

    Weird symptoms?!

I had irritation in my throat after surgery from being intubated during the procedure. My surgeon told me to gargle with salt water and it was fine after a couple of days.

    Pre-oper afraid of drains!

No drain, catheter or pain pump here. I had surgery 9 weeks ago and haven't taken so much as a tylenol since the day after surgery. I'm fascinated by the differences in procedure from surgeon to surgeon I've seen on these boards.
  13. Just drink, drink, drink. I'm 9 weeks out and when I find myself getting queasy and light headed, it's usually because I haven't had enough to drink. Especially with it being so hot, make sure you have water in your hand at all times!

    Incision sites

Mine were glued. About 10 days post op the glue peeled off and they were all closed.

    Dizzyness?

Sounds like something I had a couple of years ago. It was from sinus and ear fluid. Probably not from surgery, just bad timing. Every time I riled over in bed I got the spins and I'd be walking down the hall at work and walk right into the wall. Took about 6 weeks to resolve completely.
  16. My hubby has been very supportive and I just have to keep reminding myself that just because my life is changing quickly, I have to let him make changes at his own pace. I bought my first bike in 20 years this weekend and he was totally supportive (especially since I got it at a garage sale for $10!!). He's been very patient with all of the errands I've been sending him on for things for the yard and garden and he even helped me plant onions tonight. Our family is definitely the type that revolves around the mom. I'm very lucky in that respect. Because I'm changing, our whole family dynamic is changing for the better, I just have to make sure they can all keep up with me now!
  17. You know all of those things you always wanted to do but never found the time and energy for? Well I'm doing them all!! My surgery was March 21st. Since then I've gone from a size 22 to a 16/18. I have all of this energy there is no more procrastinating. My lawn is in the best shape ever. I put in a 100 by 100 foot veggie garden. I don't stop until I go to bed. I think my husband is missing all of the down time. Just sent him for gas for the mower! Back to the yard!!

Grilled chicken and grilled corn for dinner here. So glad it's finally grill weather!!!
  19. I wasn't allowed until 7 weeks. I grilled and chopped it and mixed it with some roasted corn, avocado, curry powder, salt and pepper.
  20. I did, a little, upping my fluids helped.

    What ya eating tonight?

We're traveling so I had pulled pork and cole slaw at the Hard Rock Cafe Ottawa, Ontario in Canada. Had no issues. Had the 5 spice sauce. Really yummy.
  22. My surgery was 3/21 and I just broke through my 10 day stall. I upped the protein and kept at it and am finally seeing results again.

    What ya eating tonight?

London broil with horseradish and steamed peas. As long as I chew carefully my pouch seems to have no issues with beef, pork, chicken, turkey, or shellfish. I've been very lucky.
