Lisa and mamabear... I'm a transplanted Michigander. Hubby and I were born and raised in SE Michigan. My sister lives in Ann Arbor. We most recently lived in Marquette, I was supposed to have my surgery with Dr English and then my hubby relocated to Nevada for work. Can't wait to move back :-)

    Pcos ans gastric bypass

I also have PCOS. I had surgery on Jan 16th. I've noticed less facial hair, my skin was always broken out before and now it looks great, my cravings are pretty much gone. I haven't gotten my period yet but I suspect I will soon.

    January 2013 Post Op

Had to share: ran half a mile today! I'm an ex runner so it doesn't seem like much to me but when I think about how before I could only run a minute or two at a time, it's a big deal! Feeling awesome.
  18. My emotions are bananas. I didn't think I'd care so much about all the little things. Glad to have this support, just for that!
  19. My starting weight was 275. I think those heavier at the beginning lose a little faster at first. It will all even out. Keep it up and don't get down.

    What ya eating tonight?

I made shrimp (cut in pieces) with cabbage mix, sprouts, light teriyaki sauce, and ground ginger. Cooked til tender. Sooo yummy. Like the inside of an egg roll.
  21. Hi all. I had my surgery on Jan 16 and am currently one week post op. So far so good! The only issue I've noticed is I can consume anything cold. But down 10 lbs :-) A little back story. I'm 25 and was diagnosed with a hormonal disorder when I was 14. It's caused a lot if weight gain, blood sugar problems, and infertility. I've always been athletic, played volleyball and was a runner most of my school years, but I was always the chunky one. After high school I got married and have been a nanny/homemaker. To no avail, my husband and I have not been able to conceive. So 120 lbs later and countless failed diets, except use routines, and fertility treatments, I am here. I feel good about my decision. I'm hoping to get to know other RNYers and have a support system since my surgeons office is 4 hours away and I won't be able to make the support meetings. I've read so many post and have so much respect for this outlet and the people who bare the souls on here! Hope to get to know y'all Mandi
