This has been absolutely one of the best decisions of my life. I am self pay ($13,000). I got a medical loan (horrid interest) to pay for it. I went through my budget (I'm a little OCD) and with the food savings and other little tweaks I could do, we determined that we could afford the payments. I'll have to look it up but there was a website that said having the band would save you $15,000 in one year. I will find that and post it here. I absolutely wish you the best!! Welcome Chris!!! I would say that it really depends on your situation. Some of us are blessed with money and some are not. Depsite that, we are all commanded to be good stewards of what God has given us. Here's the way my family thinks of purchases. If we are able to be in God's will then we will do it. However, if we are going to get into debt, foregoing paying obligations, not tithing as we should etc., then we wait. There is one more side to that ... how is your health? Do you have co-morbidities that is jeapordizing your life? All I can say, is pray pray pray! The money you would be saving over the year could be your payments for the year as well (just a thought) My prayers are with you! Dear heavenly Father, I pray that you will be with Chris during this time. I pray that You will guide her actions; give her Your wisdom in this decision and show her Your will. Giving You all the honor and glory, I pray this in Your name, Jesus Christ. Amen.

I love the way it has changed my life. I love how my husband looks at me now. I love that I'm not MO any more - just O and I can't wait to be out of that category either! I love feeling better overall. I love that I can jog without feeling like I'm gonna die!!! OMG I haven't done that since I was a teenager. I can always feel mine but it doesn't show through (yet). Mine is really high under my ribs so I don't know if that helps or not. I've heard of the revisions too where you can get it located somewhere else, deeper, or get a smaller port.

I can imagine me doing that at maintenance as well to make sure I don't gain. Food and losing weight seems to encompass my life!!

Rumar and Hollieberries!! Rumar - I understand so much how you feel. We just talked about this in church. We are not the focus of the attacks/trials. It is all about showing Satan God's infinite Wisdom. I do know we get weary, but we can rest in the Lord knowing that all things work for good to them that are in Christ Jesus!! Hollieberries - I too am the treasurer at my little church. It breaks my heart at times to see what people do, to see them come and go, and to see the wreckage they can leave behind. It is a heavy burden and I do talk with my Pastor and his wife on a regular basis to keep my focus on what I'm there for rather than on what people give or don't give. And you know, it's not the money, it's knowing their lives and the lies that they are hiding behind - it's just reflected in the money. Ok - any of you that have reached goal ... Does it go away? Will we eventually get warm again? I have an icycle for a nose!!! My hands are cold WITH gloves on in the car and the heater going. wow - I have been definitely failing in this area!!!! I take almost normal sized bites. I do occassionaly get the golf ball / sliming issue so I try to eat slower. I love this journey - so back to chewing!!

I'm excited to see everyone's pictures!! I've been discouraged with the stupid #*%( scale not moving or going in the wrong direction!! Of course the reality is that I'm eating crappy and not exercising So I'm starting back on my 600-800 calorie goal, I'm going to actually drink some water , and I'm starting to exercise as of last night! I finally took my measurements so that I can see progress other than that evil scale!! I asked DH to hide it and he looked at me like I was crazy and didn't. Oh well, I probably would have torn up the house lookin' for it anyway!! Hugs to everyone!! :bounce:
