Suzzzie - I am right there with you. I have relied on this band to do all the work for me. I added some exercise and still ate crap. I am still eating crap and I'm not losing. I don't eat much - but it is crap I need a kick in my arse as well - I have got to learn some better habits. God forbid I had to have an unfill because the weight would come back on soooooo fast since I haven't changed anything about the way I eat (just slower now).

welcome MD!!! That is amazing and clearly at the hand of God Hugs & Prayers to you Gen (wombat)

Awe - brutal run today. It was 95 degrees today. 5k total - I ran the first half great until the heat got to me. I had to walk / run that last half. UGH. I think I'm going to have to head back indoors or switch to mornings!
-
Steph - thanks for the break down!! I am going to try to work towards 99g a day. I know I'm going to have to do some shakes to get there. I just can't eat enough to do that much meat. Re: the 132 ... I'm only 5'0" tall. My ideal weight range is between 95-125; that's why my goal is 120. I have to say that I've seen your pics and you look FANTASTIC!!! My tummy has seen better days, (along with my thighs and butt). I would kill for your tone tummy!! I don't know if I can exercise enough to make them look better. I have great muscle tone in my legs, but you can't really see it through the "fluff" Thanks Janine - I'm trying. The blasted scale isn't moving right now so I need to do something different  HUGS to all the Junies!! Gen (wombat)

Thanks for looking into this Stef!! That protein requirement is too far out of my league. It also looks like a buttload of calories too!!! I am barely eating 600 calories right now - much less them being from good quality food. I just need something IN more than I'm caring about what it is. (it's not this bad all the time - before any one starts fussing at me  ) You are our resident guru - what would we do without you??!?!! FaithMD - I was thinking about you the other day. Glad to see you are still on here and doing so well!!!

First of all, you are in my prayers (praying right now!!) I really think you need to get yourself back to the doctor. If you still have burning without any fill it could be just really swollen and irritated or it could be leading to erosion. I do not mean to add to your fear, but waiting it out can only lead to bigger issues! I am praying for your health and that your doctor's hands are guided by God. HUGS and more prayers! Gen (wombat)

Congrats Steph!!!!!! I'm happy that all is well now :biggrin2: Ok - I read the article on carb cycling and my head is spinning!!! I doubt I get 50g of Protein a day, much less 1g per pound!!! YIKES! We won't even talk about water!

Went for another 30min walk/jog with my DD. She has decided she wants to jog now and wants to strengthen her upper body so she can do push ups!! She's 11 and is concerned with Jr High next year and PE requirements. At least with me jogging earlier in the day, I'm not worried about my workout and I can do what is comfortable for her  Ok- my shins are burning though! I haven't had that in a long time! It hurts to just touch them - ugh.
-
gaaahhh - but what is a "foof" ?!?! lol
-
Ran 5k today!!! I ran the whole thing  I was someone who walked a bit so I slowed my pace when she needed to walk so I averaged 15min miles.

AWESOME ImaDuckie!!!!!! Hugs & Prayers for all my fellow Christian Bandsters!! Gen (wombat)

Has anyone tried the Viactiv Multi Vitamin chews?
wombat712 replied to Mom2_4's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love my viactivs!!! I take a calcium one and the multi-vitamin one - both chocolate flavored. I only notice an after taste if I wait too long to eat breakfast. Then you kindof get a funky taste - I don't get that at all if I eat breakfast as soon as I get them down! -
WTG Julie!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUZZZIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad to know you got to enjoy for your birthday - yummmm ice cream *drool*

wooohooo Ceradad!!!!! That is awesome :biggrin2: Y'all are machines - I feel like such a slacker when I post my one activity:tt2: Today did 5K - average was 13min miles. Would have been better but DH was with me and his traveling caught up with him and he had a hard time. I had to go back to get him when I realized he wasn't right behind me. (#%* scale isn't moving but I'm hoping that will change soon. Grrrrrrrr - I WANT goal by my 1 year!!
-
Good luck Ceradad on your 5k!!!!! Did the jogging club again today - did the 5k stretch; had to take breathers - felt like I had smoker's lung again (quit 5 yrs ago). It was HOT today and I didn't have any water/gatorade w/ me. We are switching our runs to mornings pretty quick after today. Running at high noon isn't a good idea anymore. I don't know why today was so hard - did cardio yesterday and we did lunges, core work and back work. This little mini hills were kicking my booty today!!!! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!! Gen (wombat)

Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?
wombat712 replied to coltonwade's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I'm here too  Still jogging!! And, trying to do some other stuff too! I really enjoy jogging now (who EVER thought I would say that?!?!) -
Rhonda - I think you have taken the first step!! Getting a fill that you need will make a huge difference. You have to go back to basics with the fill of liquids, then chewing chewing chewing. I'm not the model bandster by any means so I can't say much more than that! HUGS! Gen (wombat)

Ducky - you need to ask the NUT at your doc's office about what they recommend for Protein intake. It has huge ranges between docs. Mine only wanted 40g but a lot of docs have it at over 100g. As far as metformin - I think you're probably going to have to keep testing your blood and go back to your reg doc for blood work to determine when to lower it. My DH has lost some weight since I've done this and he has lowered his dose once but after blood work. He obviously hasn't lost a lot and quickly so it is definitely a different situation. I wish you the absolute best on getting through the liquid phase of the diet!! Your time will come - be blessed  SDGaines - Ok - I was huge diet coke-aholic. I would drink 6 a day. I NEVER drank Water (ever) only diet coke. I tested my resolve to do this to show my commitment to my DH - I gave up diet coke two weeks before my surgery was scheduled. I have had 1 sip since then - didn't taste good. I had to drink a carbonated medicine that I thought was going to kill me about a month or so ago. The gas from the carbonation was horrible and made me nauseous. You couldn't pay me to drink a diet coke now  As far as other foods - my dear son was so worried about what all I couldn't eat that he fed me everything he could think of that I couldn't have again - I was so full the week leading up to surgery that I didn't care if I ever ate again!!! I couldn't handle any more "last meals". (I didn't have a pre-op diet) Be assured that God can take that away from you - like Phylser said - it is a renewing of your mind, your tastes, everything. I view the band as a blessing because it has changed my life tremendously! Hugs & Prayers Gen (wombat)

Suzzzie - be careful!! The pain part sounds so scary. I'll be praying for you over the weekend so you can make it till Monday!
