    Surgery scheduled for 2/7/8...need advice..

    I switched my arthritis medicine after banding. I was allowed to crush or cut up but they were just too nasty to deal with. The new pill is nice and tiny so it gives me no trouble. I would say it's about the size of BC pills. As far as the day of surgery - just ask your surgeon if it's ok to take your meds and let him/her know what you are on. I now take a chewable Vitamin - they are generally huge so I was never able to get those down. congrats on getting your date!!!! wombat

    Bandsters 3 months where were you???

    I had lost 30 pounds at 3 months out. I started out with restriction from the beginning and didn't have to spend an eternity on liquids or mushies. I think you are doing FANtastic!!!!!! wombat

    Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

    I'm sad to say I haven't run yet this week. I was too weak for the first run. I drove 13 hours yesterday and didn't have it in me to do my run then either. I think I'm going to have to have a week 3 do-over. My DH has managed to get two of the runs in. He definitely thinks we need to stay on this week again to get used to. My apologies for copping out on this one. And, yes - it's stinkin' cold here!!!!!!! My arthritis would KILL me to spend that kind of time outside - I cannot wait until Spring

    Do you ....

    Y'all rock!! Thank you for letting me know how you eat! I had fill #5 yesterday and it's a good one!!! I have to take the baby 1/4 bites of the mushy stuff!! I usually do the bigger/normal bites and swallow in bits. Now I need to pause between bites to get room for another one. Oooh I'm excited. I will definitely be having to practice the rules with this one, especially when I get to solids tomorrow.

    Oh wow - I've been gone for two days and look at this!! I've cried and laughed catching up on this thread!! Candy - my prayers are with you as you go through this time. My marriage was almost over 7 years ago and then my husband became a Christian. God is so good and now I thank God every day for the man He has given me. 7 years ago I couldn't get rid of him fast enough lol. I know God can work through any situation - I pray God's blessing on you, your marriage and that you receive God's wisdom during this time. Ghost - such a sweet story. I'm a sap and cry at EVERYthing! So touching I love the ideas you have already received on how to deal with your nighttime prayers. Is it working??     Do you ....

    So today at lunch I decided to "do the rules" and well I still took normalish size bites. But, I chewed until mush. I was able to eat 3/4 of a turkey burger from Fuddruckers! They are huge. I removed 1/2 the bread because that was just too much. On the 3rd quarter I removed the top piece of bread as well. (DH ate the other 1/4). Isn't that too much? :smile: I didn't have anything else (but the Cookies were screaming at me). I'm getting a fill tomorrow so I'm hoping to get some real restriction and control over how much I can eat!!! Thanks y'all for responding!!! wombat

    So much revolves around eating

    I think one of the biggest shocks is how much food has been integrated into our lives, our habits, our activities, celebrations, depressions, and so on. It is difficult to find rewards that don't involve going out to eat to celebrate. I LOVE eating out. I would never cook again if I could get away with it. :smile: I lived on mashed potatoes and various soups because I was out of town for a week and 1/2 after my surgery. I had to go out for every meal and find something that I could eat. I was too terrified of hurting my band to deviate from what I could eat. good luck to you - this stage will pass soon! wombat

    Soft Stop Anyone???

    uh oh - look for new ones :smile: Mine changes up on me. I very seldom will have the shoulder pain. I occassionaly get the sigh, but mostly I get the burp. I know I took one extra bite when I hiccup and I know I didn't chew enough when I get the golfball in the chest. I don't know why the signal changes but mine does so I have to try and pay attention or I get to the hiccup w/o realizing it.

    How is your body reshaping?

    Well ... being in my upper 30's it's not looking good on this end. I had plenty of stretchmarks from my 2 kids so it's really getting wrinkly and soft now (sorry if it grosses you out!). I'm going to try some bodywraps to help tighten up the skin and we'll see how that works. I've done it many years ago and I loved it so we'll see how it works with the extra skin. Otherwise, my DH has said I can have a TT and breast lift when the time comes if I want it.

    lulu - I think it's a tough one at the best of health!! My DH went and ran it anyway yesterday; I think he was crawling to the front door - poor thing. We're already planning on an extra week at this level before we move on.

    Hugs and prayers for everyone today!! I just did two days of Protein shakes to get all the bad carbs out of my body and I felt so weak during it. I survived it but it didn't cause me to lose hardly any weight; only 0.2 pounds!!!! I'm going for another fill tomorrow hoping to stir things up a bit. I know the weight loss goes slower as you get closer to goal but it is SOOOO frustrating! HUGS! wombat
  21. I ended up with this for yesterday: 3 Protein shakes w/ 1% milk - 568cal/11fat/33carb/83protein 2 bananas - 217cal/1fat/55carb/2protein 1 SF diced peaches - 25cal/6carb 1 cup coffee 16 oz Water (I know - I suck at this part) Total for the day - 810 calories / 12 fat / 94 carb / 85 protein

    I didn't run yesterday. I was finishing my second day on protein shakes only and just didn't have it in me. I almost passed out playing my instrument so I know that I wouldn't have been able to jog.
