    Surgery scheduled for 2/7/8...need advice..

    I just need one that does not make me shudder and want to gag as I'm trying to get it down. I'd kill to go back to my flinstone gummies - there's just not enough good stuff in them. :rolleyes2: wombat
  3. The only issues I had was acid reflux which runs in my family - thin or fat. I have rheumatoid arthritis which isn't from being overweight but the weight aggrivated it. I was as healthy as I could be - blood pressure, cholesteral etc were all perfect. But, given more time my luck would have run out. I LOVE my band. I only wish I could have done this 10 years ago. I missed out on being able to do SOOOOO much. I feel fantastic now!! My RA is better in my feet, I still have acid reflux and take medicine for it. good luck in your decision wombat

    Can we talk about clothing???

    Without my excess tummy I could easily go down a full size. I'm in a lose 12 now but not quite ready for a 10. If I put on the suckerinner then I can wear the 10's w/o muffin top happening. If I buy something with a relaxed waist then I can fit into a 10 w/o the muffin top. I'm spending a fortune on clothes :rolleyes2: My suckerinner goes all the way up to my bra. I just make sure I wear a slightly longer top when I put it on. I don't wear it every day. Also, mine seems to be super grippy so nothing really slides around. On a day w/o it my shirt rides up when sitting at my desk - that doesn't happen when I have the suckerinner on :Dancing_chief: I think I bought it too tight though - I've already gone down a size and it's still a bear to get into! I just want to breathe - is that too much to ask for? lol wombat

    Tummy tuck/ breast reduction.

    I would like a tummy tuck but I don't know how much I will need one in the end. Right now I would say it's a definite "go" on the TT. I won't consider PS until I've paid off this surgery so that will be another 4 years unless I can pay it off early. I want to give it some time after I get to goal to see if it can "bounce" back into shape so waiting on freeing up the funds should give me time to see what my final result is. As far as a reduction - only on 1 side and only minor -I've always been bigger on side vs the other and I really just need a lift:rolleyes2: OK - I DEFINITELY need a lift. I'm large chested and they appeared overnight when I was a teenager so they have NEVER been perky :rolleyes2: wombat

    Daily Calorie Intake

    I range between 600-1000; I try to stay between 600-800 but occasionally will treat myself and go higher :rolleyes2: My doc told me in the hospital (can't remember if it was before or after the relaxation drug - so take it for what it's worth) to try and stay between 600-800; and that this is when I would lose the most so I should make the most of it. wombat
  8. I agree with girlygirlz - I think a lot of us are still a work in progress. However, I do not want to be skinny or bony so I will stop before I get there. I want to remain curvaceous which is what my DH prefers as well :rolleyes2: Also my doc suggested that I could only lose 60-70% of the weight that I wanted with the band. I have already exceeded that mark but they only base it on statistics. You can be as successful as you want it to be - and sometimes it's slower than others but it does work! good luck to you! wombat

    Hospital Experience(s)

    I wanted out of there I didn't want to be woken up every hour for someone to check on me and do vitals. I didn't want to be forced do the breathing exercises and walk every hour - however my DH (take your pick on what the D stood for ) enforced all the rules on the 5 hour drive home. Every stinkin hour he stopped at a gas station or a rest stop and drug my sleepin butt out of the car and made me walk!!!! I just wanted pain meds and sleep! wombat

    Help. stuck

    I haven't tried it but others recommend tiny sips of pineapple juice to break up whatever is stuck. If mine lasted for hours I would be miserable - I feel for you. I hope this helps you! wombat

  14. I would say the biggest thing for me was slowing down on the eating. Pausing between bites for 30-60seconds to "feel" how things are going. Because I too was getting to the point of PB; as soon as I felt the feeling it was too late.

  16. Oh me too!!! I'm in 12's right now. About to move into 10's. I have a pair of size 10 jeans from my sister and I help them up to me last week and said no way these will fit. My friend convinced me to try them on. Umm they were snug but they buttoned and zipped :tongue: Not quite ready for public viewing but I'm getting close! I just purchased another set up sleep wear since I'm sooooooo cold all the time. I bought a large - it is huge on me! I NEVER thought I could fit into a medium anything. I am top heavy so I generally have to go with at least a large but apparently not in sleep wear :eek: On the other hand I bought my new undies a size too small - when do our heads catch up? lol wombat

    recommitted to intense exercise

    Ooooh I'm such the slacker :eek: OK, I'm going to either do my couch to 5K or cardio at home 5 days a week; do my morning 7min exercise program for toning every day; ugh ... and some pushups /situps (YUCK) each day. Let's get our booties in gear!!! LJM you are an amazing inspiration!!! wombat

    Was I stuck?

    Yep - that was an "almost" stuck :wink2: It is uncomfortable. A stuck will usually start the salivating. For me I get to the point where I can't swallow anymore - not even spit. At that point it's a lost cause for me - it's PB time! I used to fight it but I've decided that spending an hour being completely miserable spitting into a cup was probably more damaging than just having a quick upheave of the offending food. I have always HATED throwing up with a passion - avoid it at ALL costs!! I can now just face the potty and assume the position and remove the offending item. It's really not the same as throwing up since there isn't any acid/stomach juices etc. Just the chewed up food. hope you doing better now! wombat

    Tightness in the morning

    Most definitely!! I can either eat 2-3 bites only - possibly have a PB or I can drink a slimfast for 30 minutes. I generally just drink my Breakfast because nothing works very well. Mushie Cereal, eggs, oatmeal- whatever just doesn't work in the morning. I feel the slimfast gurgling through so it's best for me to drink :wink2: wombat

    Going smoothly until...

    Yeah - some liquids for a couple of days should help reduce the swelling. Maybe it just got irritated from something and is just staying too tight with you trying to eat. It's a vicious cycle sometimes {{hugs}} to you! wombat

    June 2007 Bandsters

    I'm working on the couch to 5K jogging program right now. Had about two weeks off due to being really weak with the no-carb 2-day challenge, got a fill, and it's stinkin cold outside!! My plan is to get to where I can actually jog 5K in 30minutes. My family is doing it with me and we are all going to sign up for a local Fun Run in May/June. We all have bikes so I hope that we can get to some local trails. We all have tennis racquets (which I suck at this one) so I hope to chase a stupid yellow ball around the court. I want to tear the kids AWAY from the TV / Video Games!! Other than that - not much :wink2: It all sounds good but this is Texas and when it's not too stinkin cold - it's too dang hot!! I'm hoping that I will build up some heat tolerance! Hugs to all Junies!! wombat

    Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

    Happy Birthday Whosya!!!!!!!! I am bound and determined to run this week!!! Even if I have to knock the icycles off of my nose!!! I miss it and that feels really weird to me!! I've been doing cardio tapes in the house since I haven't been going outside in all this cold. I have been surprised that I have been able to last 30minutes on those without sweating profusely! I will be doing week 3 - sorry to be behind y'all! wombat

    How this works ???

    Nume - maybe they know more about weight than we do. I set my goal at 120. I'm 5'0". My doc says that's too low as well and said I should shoot for 130. Also, it would be easier to maintain. I don't know - it sounds kindof high for me. Depending on the chart I can weigh between 95 (not happening) and 128. I guess I will do a self review when I get there and see if I'm happy with the results. {{hugs}} wombat
