Also cottage cheese and avocado. You could even make runny guacamole!

Greek yogurt, refried beans mixed with salsa and puréed. Tuna with ff mayo puréed. I'm assuming you're on that stage.

I have reached my first stall at 8 weeks out. Thank goodness I have been reading all the posts on this site! I am not freaking out. This too will pass! -
I had a lot of left side pain as well. I found an abdominal binder helped put pressure on the incision and helped with the pain.

Walked 45 minutes today. Then did 15 minutes interval on the recumbent bike at home. First time about kicked my butt! I have to start somewhere!

I've read a lot of people stall out at week 2 or 3. It's just your body getting used to your major procedure! I am 6 weeks out and have lost about 4 pounds a week. No stalls (yet), but no big drop like you had! Just be patient, follow your doctors instructions, drink lots of water and get your protein in! You're doing great! -
Need help with GOOD protein recipes!

Look on mybariatricpantry.com You can order sample paks and decide what you like best. My surgeon sells bariatric advantage and I use the vanilla. I haven't tried the chocolate. I really like chocolate truffle and fuzzy navel from syntrax. I order a sample of other syntrax flavors, but so far have not found one I like. I mix mine with unsweet almond milk or water. I didn't mind the thickness before surgery, but I really hate thick shakes now! It's basically just trial and error until you find what you like. Plus I found what you like before surgery may not be what you like after surgery! Good luck! -
I was able to shower the next day after they took out the catheter. I had hoped to go back after 2 weeks (I have a desk job), but I took that extra week. I am glad I did. I was still dog tired by the end of the day.

Would You Have Weight Loss Surgery Again?
gra5u5 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am only 6 weeks post op. My journey has been very uneventful (thank goodness!) I would definitely do it again if I had to make the choice again. -
Apparently, I am a fast eater. I have not gotten sick or experienced dumping (heaven forbid!), but I have been uncomfortable a couple of times. What do you do to make your self eat slow?

Mrs.JaniceKaye, you look fabulous! I love your new pic. Good job at school too! -
My surgeon allows Zyrtec D because of my allergies. Benadryl doesn't work and makes me tired and sudafed does nothing for me. I take a 12 hour pill versus a 24 hour pill and no problems and it works fine on me at this time. I'm jealous! I miss my Zyrtec D.
-
Zyrtec D and Claritin D are time released. I was told I couldn't take them. I take plain old sudafed every four hours and benedryl at night.

I'm on soft foods. I will be 3 weeks post op on Wednesday. I am tired of soups, potatoes, beans... Any other suggestions for dinner?? What did you eat during soft foods? I'm down 20lbs but now I'm stuck. I wasn't getting enough calories, I think. Each doctor is different, but I am having grilled salmon and chili. Very well chewed, I might add. I can also have meatloaf. On the other hand, I can not have potatoes yet. I can each salmon every day, I think! -
Anyone tried eating 8 days post op?
gra5u5 replied to mfee08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt the same way. I was sick of liquids then I moved on to purée. Then I'm sick of purée And today I start soft foods. Ill be 5 weeks out on Tues. It is so hard to stick to the plan but it will be worth it in the end. Hang in there! -
I use Lose it! You can see exactly how many grams of protein, calories, sugar, fiber, etc. you've consumed for the day. I've used this for several years. The app is free.

Thanks everyone! Great tips! I'm a stress eater so I really have to concentrate to not eat too fast when I'm stressed and hungry! I have baby spoons and have been putting my spoon down between bites. It will come with time!

I had greek yogurt tonight .... I am on soft foods for 6th weeks and I am bored. I am sick of chicken/tuna/egg salad. Refried beans, chili and bananas peanut butter and soup. Can any one give me any other ideas beside the above. My meal plan says I can have turkey sandwich meat and low fat cream cheese. I plan on rolling cream cheese in the turkey for roll ups. Also, says I can have meatloaf. Yum. -
Thanks, ya'll. I'll give it a try!

1/2 avocado with lime juice and salt. Still in the puréed stage. -
I didn't find the liquid diet bad using the protein shakes. I never really got hungry.
-
Try unsweetened almond milk with your shakes. See if the stomach pains go away.
