    What ya eating tonight?

Lisa that DOES sound amazing! I've had "taco" night a couple times, aka just the filling, but can't wait for lettuce wraps!

    What ya eating tonight?

I had a Smart Ones Roast Turkey with gravy & mashed potatoes. The turkey was good and soft. Ate a few bites of 'tatoes, but they were bland and I was already full from the turkey. Not bad though for microwave food on the cheap. Plus I get 2 meals out of it

    Talking about food....

I'm a month post-op and feel like food runs my life so much more now than it did before. I feel like all I do is think about what, when and how much I can eat and I feel like I talk about food so much now to people. Maybe it's just because I'm now paying attention and before I would just mindlessly eat whatever I wanted, but I don't want people to think I'm some food-obsessed weirdo who can't talk about anything other than my new food lifestyle.

    What ya eating tonight?

I had 2 slices of low fat colby jack cheese and a Morningstar Farms "sausage" patty. 10g protein each and delicious!

    Do you eat crackers?

Thanks y'all. I appreciate the input. I've been dunking provolone cheese in hummus (which is awesome!) so maybe I'll try some cold cuts with the laughing cow cheese. I don't want to overdue anything but wasn't sure if people were occasionally eating a few (!) crackers without incident.

    Do you eat crackers?

Does anyone have any non-cracker or carb alternatives for cheese spread/hummus? Not allowed raw veggies yet.

    Do you eat crackers?

What kind did you try? Triscuits and wheat thins seem too tough. I was thinking something soft and bland like ritz...

Well I lost a pound! It's not much but hopefully this means my stall is over-- hey, a loss is a loss, I'll take it!

    Hait loss

I've been told by several people, my doc included, that hair loss in inevitable. I take Biotin too, but it can only help but will not prevent the hair loss. It happens to everyone 3-5 months post surgery. He recommended volumizing shampoo, but also just to cope with the fact that its going to happen, but won't last forever. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Just know we're all going to go through it too

That's great! At least you had a positive first experience out. It will get better! Happy you're happy!

    Type ii diabetic

I am a type 2 diabetic with high BP & cholesterol as well. 2 days after surgery my doc told me my blood sugar was within normal levels. I continued to take my meds for about 1-2 weeks after surgery but have been off since. It was the sole reason I did the surgery and it was worth every second!

Hey all I found a new food product I am in LOVE with and thought I'd share. I live in Upstate NY and one of our finer grocery stores (Wegmans) came out with new vegetarian versions of chicken nuggets, patties, sausage and beef crumbles, etc. I bought the nuggets and patties and my stomach (and taste buds) loved them! They're all really high in protein and low in fat/carbs and very light breading. The serving size is 7 nuggets but only ate 2. I haven't checked on other name-brand items of meat substitute products, but maybe they have something in a store near you? I'm not vegetarian, but it felt nice to eat a "familiar" food without all the bad nutritional values! I've been VERY blessed that I've been able to try new foods without bad reactions.

Ok, I think I'll continue to stay away, better safe than sorry. Hope you're starting to feel better jodi! ginsyn, that's too bad that even bread crumbs are bothersome to you. Think of all the carbs you're saving though! (Silver lining? )

    Cream of crab soup

I've eaten crab cakes a couple times, but only in my house where I was able to prepare them without a lot of grease and fat. Like worm suggested, you should ask your server. I used to work in the restaurant biz and any decent server will have no problems helping you find something or making special requests for how to prepare your food (after all- you're paying for it!) It is a little nerve-wracking, but just enjoy your company and evening and you'll be fine. Besides, it's not like you'll be eating a full portion!

    Not sure what to expect!

i get the hiccups too, isn't it funny that's our new signal? It's hard to explain to people how you get full off so little, but trust me you'll know when you're there. It takes a lot longer for the mental connection to occur...at least for me.

    Period & Devo shots

I have a meeting with my OBGyn next week, I'm going to ask about the IUD or Implant. they last for a few years. I've had bad experiences in the past with the shot & NuvaRing prior to surgery giving my symptoms similar to what you described so I've been off birth control for years, but don't want to risk anything now so I'm hoping the IUD or implant will help. I've read a couple of posts that ladies are experiencing differences in their cycle post-surgery, but I haven't had mine yet so I can't say personally. Hope you're able to get it all figured out!

    Frustrated

I'm at a stall too. I haven't lost anything this week. I lost almost 30 lbs in 3 weeks and now nothing. But, from what I've read on here, this will pass and it's normal. Doesn't make it any less frustrating though does it?

December surgery friends-- are you eating tortilla shells? (like burritos/quesadillas/wraps) I've seen a few people on here mention eating those items but I wasn't sure we were "allowed" to. Are they considered bread? On an unrelated note, yesterday was my 1 month-aversary from surgery, yay!
