    30 minute rule

Oh so I'm not the only one?! I agree, this is definitely hard. I sometimes sneak a small sip of water just to rinse my mouth, especially if I'm eating something with a lot of flavor. I hope it gets easier!

    What ya eating tonight?

RNY friends- I have to share a fun new food product I stumbled on today! They're called Coco Pop Cakes, and they're so yummy! They're like a rice cake, sort of, but they're airy and flavorful. They have pretty much no nutritional value (1g protein, 4g carbs, 0g fat each) but they provide an excellent crunch & they're a good vehicle for spreading on laughing cow cheese (or FF cream cheese), fruit preserves, or plain. On their website www.cocofoods.com you can find where they're sold and there are recipe ideas. You can buy online too, but in bulk. I hope you're all abe to find these because they are wonderful for when you need bread or crunch, but they dissolve like a cheeto without the guilt!

Oh my gosh and hour & 45 mins! woah baby!! haha. I think I'm going to try 30 mins cardio (treadmill) and 30 mins weights. A couple years ago I was in an Aerobics class that did a mixture f Turbo Kick, Zumba, and Step exercises and I love it, but the gym I belong to (Planet Fitness) doesn't offer group classes so it's all on me now to make sure I do it right! Best of luck with a speedy recovery, Gen! You'll get back on that treadmill soon enough

What kind of exercises do you all do? I've only done walking 30 mins a couple times a week but my doc just cleared me for all exercising. It's never been my strong area so I wondered what others do and how often? Also, recently my muscles feel weak after exercising, have others experienced this?

Had my 5-6 week post-op follow up today. Nutritionist said I'm doing everything right and showing an excellent weight loss. Once I'm able to get in at least 60g protein by food I can wean off the protein shakes--hallelujah!! Got another Rx for Vitamin D, but got taken off the prilosec and something else I cant remember now. Another 3 weeks or so on soft foods and I'll be bumped up to the "lifestyle" plan aka "regular" food. Feeling blessed that I've had such a smooth recovery and sending thoughts to those who have not been so lucky.

  13. I know our bodies are going through a rampant change in hormones (especially us ladies) but is anyone else experiencing major changes in their complexion/skin? I take Biotin, which I thought is supposed to help with skin (my nails sure have benefitted!) but I feel like I'm breaking out more than usual.

    Eggs

i liked eggs pre-op, but for some reason during weeks 3 & 4 post-op all I wanted to eat was eggs. I craved them morning noon and night haha. Your sense of fullness won't be immediate, which is why we have to eat slow, but getting in a whole egg isn't bad. Glad you were able to enjoy it, it was my first solid food too

    Restaurants & Eating Out

Neither, being a seafood restaurant they had some good options (I did pull the menu off first) but I was just curious about other people's restaurant experience

    wasted food = expensive

This has been a problem in my house too, especially since I hate leftovers but my husband cringes anytime extra food gets tossed. I'm hoping its a temporary thing too because its been quite the waste of money when I thought I'd be saving so much too. I'm finding I'm spending more though because I'm buying new things and trying new foods. I guess like everything else in life after wls, this too shall pass.

    What ya eating tonight?

I know this doesn't technically count because its breakfast & not dinner, but I had 1.5 eggs and a meatless sausage patty with a few ounces of Trop50 OJ. Felt like a real meal!! First "meal" I've eaten since surgery that wasn't just some chicken breast or yogurt, etc. it's the small victories

    Shopping?

I just bought a new swimsuit, hope it fits when it comes time to wear it
  22. Stop eating/drinking when you are full! I am 5 weeks out today and still can't get in more than 40oz of water and I'm just starting to get to about 70g protein. I know more protein & water may help you lose faster, but listen to your body, that's the most important. If you're feeling full or uncomfortable, stop. The weight will come off, especially at only 11 days. You'll be fine if you don't get the full amount in, your body needs time to heal, it all comes with time

This is why I've "advanced" myself on my diet from purée to soft. One can only eat the same 10 mushy items over and over before you go nuts! I'm so sick of Greek yogurt. My 1st follow up with my nutritionist is next week. Curious to see if she's excited I'm eating well or if she scolds me for going too fast.
