Is it okay..
Sheddingtummy replied to Sheddingtummy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks all! My husband also laughed at me for this one, but it is so much more tolerable for me in the coffee so I guess I was telling myself it must not be right! Lol! -
I am going to look for these! Great source of protein! Thanks for sharing!

Wendy's Chili Yay or Nay?
Sheddingtummy replied to libra_lisa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cheered and ate a very little amount when I was 10 days post op (home made not Wendy's) and it was fine for me but everyone is different. More recently (3 weeks post op) I made chicken chili and it was very tummy friendly ( I think because I used the precook end chicken in a bag and it was extremely soft and moist after being in the crock pot all day! Also- about the Greek yogurt- i have always used the plain as sour cream and it tastes very similar! i am on a kick of trying to find other ways to get it in and I found a couple recipes on Pinterest for Greek yogurt coated chicken breast and chicken salad. I have not tried either yet but both sure do look and sound great! Here is the link for the chicken. http://megnificentlife.blogspot.com/2012/05/skinny-greek-yogurt-chicken.html?m=1 -

My advise- DONT DO IT- YIKES! I have tried 2 single shots (watermelon and grape) and hated them- nasty, but I am not a waster (obviously lol!) so I choked it down. I actually mixed the shot in 8 ounces of h20- still gross but not as sweet and syrupy.

Sheddingtummy replied to purpleamy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am cold also- but the weather here in upper Michigan in -30 with wind chill for the past three days! Lol! -7 without wind chill! -
My surgery date was 1-02-13 and as of 01-01-13 the hospital I used here in Michigan converted to new "modern methods" following post op and did-away with the X-ray/barium swallow tests. I am currently three weeks and have not had any X-rays either.

3 days post-op: Bad breath, anyone?
Sheddingtummy replied to Catgyrl68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was my same experience! Still is the same way 2.5 weeks out. The back of my front teeth feel like grit all the time! I am assuming because of all the protein but not sure what the reason would be! I hate a Nasty mouth! -
I have been experiencing side pain on my left side- near the large incision site. It comes and goes but usually stays for a couple of days at a time. I called my doc today because at times it hurts worse then others and I want reassurance that it is normal. I was told it is nerve pain from the surgery and it will go away eventually. They are going to get me some type of girdle to compress the area and I was also told to try hot/cold comps. Anyone else experience this? I am wondering how long it usually lasts??

Recovery supplement after working out?
Sheddingtummy replied to speedydvr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use whey protein powder body fortress brand (sold at Walmart in very large containers) 56g in one serving (2 scoops)- my recipe is 2.5 scoops with 12 oz of soy milk (lactose issues) and I drink in 2 servings. I was also told after any workout is best to consume your protein requirements. -

Great to know others experience this! How annoying! I thought I overdid it chasing around my children. I just hope it goes away soon! -

Yeah- I have noticed that every hospital has different stages or guidelines! I was on clear liquid for two days, full liquids for two weeks and now soft foods. -

I was a little surprised by the pretzels and crackers because of the carbs- haven't tried them but they are on my "okay list" -

My surgery was on jan 2nd. I have been following the guidelines from the NUT. Here is the list that was provided: cottage cheese, string cheese, yogurt, low fat deli meat, soft chicken, eggs, fish, tuna, seafood, beans, chili, cooked veggies, canned fruit, hummus, toast, crackers, pretzels, potatoes, squash or anything mash able with a fork. -
I am eating things recommended from NUT: string cheese, Greek yogurt (ugh), cooked veggies, can soups (not strained!) I tried a piece of juicy and tender chicken breast and handled it well, deli meat is on my menu, oatmeal, breakfast cereal (afraid to try), cottage cheese. I was told no raw veggies, seeds, nuts, red meat, crispy/ crunchy, salty or fried along with obvious high sugar (over 10 grams)
