    sleep study

We have had patients in our sleep lab who are unable to fall asleep or their sleep just isn't sufficient. In their cases, the Dr only sends them back anyway. It is important, regardless of what you may have been told, to find a sleep aid prior to the study if u already have insomnia. It saves you a lot of time and hassle. If an OTC aid is not sufficient for you then your dr would be able to help.

    sleep study

Hopefully I could put some ease to the topic. I'm a Registered sleep Technologist. The key reason for a Sleep Study prior to any major surgery is due to breathing or apnea issues as it relates to being put to sleep. While we are being sedated and put under, it is normal for us to have a higher risk of sleep disordered breathing than what we may already have. Also it is good to have one to detect an additional comorbidity for a better chance at insurance approval.
  3. Hey there. I'm new to this app and I've found a lot of useful info on here. Just a run down tho, I'm 24, 314lbs, 5'10". I have gone through my consultation and I am now on phase 2. I have an appointment on 2-12 for my dietician and psych eval. All of the blood work and imaging on 1-27. I'm uber excited. It seems that the process is moving way more faster than I expected. I will be posting regularly so that I can provide just as much helpful info that you all supplied me. ????
  4. Thank you all. I look forward to sharing my journey with you.
  5. Mine was preceded by a one on one seminar with the bariatric nurse, so she answered most of my questions. When he walked in he went through my medical history, overview the options of surgery, brief explanation of hospital stay and life after, and then a brief physical exam.
