I was banded in December of 2009 at 320 pounds. I lost 100 pounds in the first year or so and was maintaining fairly well until 2012. I suffered a painful miscarriage that ended in having my original surgeon remove all of the saline from my band. I gained 50 pounds within a couple of months and sought out a new doctor/surgeon to help me regain control. I was referred to Dr Snyder from a nurse at the fertility clinic we were using and he tried to help me work with my band. Unfortunately as soon as I had good restriction I started having terrible reflux that wasn't well controlled even with Protonix. The decision was made in December to remove my lapband and have the revision to RNY gastric bypass. Once I went through all of the normal stuff (the psych eval, medical clearance, nutrtition counseling, etc) my request was submitted to insurance and everything went through on the first try. I was approved in under 24 hours and had my surgery the following Monday, January 14th!
