AJ thank you so much for posting this! It gives me so much hope because I have about 200 pounds to lose too.
-
I'm going to have to wait about two weeks to get my approval, but after six months, that is nothing! So excited for all of us.
-
I just had my last weigh in. Now I wait until the insurance company gives an approval. So excited I can barely sit still.

I came into this world at 8lbs 5oz and have been obese ever since. I have no idea what "small " feels like. I don't remember what it was like to sit with my legs crossed. But I'm determined to find out!

What ya eating tonight?
shawna29 replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm seriously considering a vegetarian diet. -
I was just wondering if there are any emotional NSVs that anyone is looking forward to. I am looking forward to not feeling ashamed when I run into someone I haven't seen in a long time or meeting new people. I'm also looking forward to feeling comfortable just sitting on a bench. Anyone else have an emotional NSV they've experienced or hope to experience?

This may seem small to others, but I went hiking! I am pre-op right now at 359 and I managed to go hiking two days in a row! This is the first time I've ever done this. It's times like these that makes me so hopeful for my new life post op. If I can do this at my current weight, what will I be able to do when I'm on the losers bench. All of you who have shared your amazing success stories have motivated me to push myself to be prepared for surgery. Thanks to you all!

I can't believe I did it!

Thanks Donna :-) -
I know just how you feel. I have an aunt who is very negative about wls as well and she herself is very overweight. I have to hear things like "I've never seen work for anyone. They always gain the weight back." She's completely ignorant on the subject so I completely dismiss her comments.

Finally got my date! June 13!
shawna29 replied to bjroberts417's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm so happy for you. I have my last weigh in next week and if I've lost enough they will submit me for approval. It's really hard to wait but nothing good comes easily. Congratulations on getting your date! I'm sure you'll do great as a loser. -
Shyanne, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? How did you tone up your arms so much? You don't look like you have any loose skin. I am about your size in your before pic and I would love to have your arms after. You look amazing!

Thank you so much! I feel amazing! (And really sore) -
I am in the process of transitioning to being a vegetarian. (I think, I'm still eating dairy and fish.) I'm hoping to find someone else who can help with ideas.

Any vegetarians out there?
shawna29 replied to shawna29's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm struggling with it. It's only been one week without meat and I'm dreaming about it. Lol. I'm going to stick it out so that I can lose my last six pounds before my next doctor's appointment. If I do, then they will submit my paperwork to the insurance company. -
Tomorrow is the day, yikes!
shawna29 replied to maddy78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I sit and think about how nervous/excited I will be the night before surgery. I can't wait until I get my surgery date... -
Isn't it great the little things you notice?

100+ To Loose
shawna29 replied to LosingItForMe2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Liz. I also have about 200 to lose. It sometimes seems impossible, but dedication and endurance will get us through it. There are SO many wonderful supportive people on here that will help. -
Wondering if its possible
shawna29 replied to daisykarebear's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Daisy, I am currently at 359. (I usually don't reveal that in public) I started at 370 and my surgery won't be until late August. I have stopped eating red meat, then fried foods, and now I'm not eating any meat at all. My determination rises and falls just like yours, but one thing that remains constant is the support you'll get here. We can all do this together! -
Mental Evaluation and Bipolar Disorder.
shawna29 replied to jens1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a cousin with severe bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. She had a rny with no problems. Don't worry yourself sick about the psych evaluation. You can do it! -
I have to wait about nine months because of my new job. I can't have my rny done until late August.

YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!!!

3 hour psyc evaluation?
shawna29 replied to 19stephanie78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was one hour of talking and a test that had 425 questions that took about two hours. All for them to tell me that I'm not bipolar, or narcissistic and I genuinely love my family. I could have told them that in five minutes.
