I did not mean to question you. I know that's probably how I came off to you and I owe you an apology. I meant to question Wasa NOT you. You shouldn't have had the beer and the big meal, but that was your choice. If Aceves instructed you not to then ...you bad! If you had a good experience, that's great and you have every right to post here. However, I'm sick and tired of Wasa accusing EVERYONE that doesn't agree with her of making money when that is exactly what she is here for! I agree with you. I guess what I meant to say is after asking a LOT of questions and if you feel good about the answers, etc. then it's a good place to start.

I would like to hear from patients that were banded in Tijuana Mexico by Dr. Ariel Ortiz Lagardere that are experiencing unresolved complications, or have experienced complications, including erosion, bowel/esophageal perforations, slips, esophageal spasms, improper band placement, poor weight loss and weight regain or any other complication. Many of us here had surgery in Mexico. A place to start would be to click on the ads to the right. Call them and ask a lot of questions and see what feels right to you.

This is very disturbing to me. I guess just because a surgeon has a big reputation that doesn't mean they are ethical and take care of their patients or that they are even nice people! This is very sad. I know that complications happen. I believe that it says a lot about a surgeon in how they handle their complications. I think it's terrible that Ortiz ignored this woman. It appears that he could care less and he refuses to own up. Why can't these surgeons be stand up guys and just admit they made a mistake and fix it?! I personally think that it doesn't matter if it the slip was Ortiz's fault or the patient's fault. He should not ignore her. The story said she tried to contact him for a year. How was she suppose to go back to him to get checked when he didn't call her back? I don't think it matters if the doctor is Mexican or if he is American. A doctor should not ignore a patient that has a complication and tried to call him! I have contacted the news station to try to get in touch with this person. I'm interested in learning more.

It shows the reporter trying to reach the clinic. His calls were not returned either. They also interviewed the surgeon who took out her band. He tried to reach the clinic to get her records and had someone on his team "that speaks fluent Spanish" contact the clinic. Ortiz ignored them too. You are right about US doctors. This doesn't just happen in Mexico. I want to make it clear that I'm not implying this is a Mexico problem because it's not! This is a problem with a surgeon not responding to his patient with complications!

Click on the ads, one by one, on the right side of this page. Mexico has some great and competitive prices these days. Call them all and asks lots of questions. Good luck!

Ah yes, the "team". Brought to you compliments of Belite Weight. I would question whether or not it was Dr. Rodriguez doing your surgery. It could have been anyone on the "team". Either way, they are all about the money and they are making lots of it at your expense!

I just want to say that I do not despise belite. I despise their practice of deceiving people. They are deceiving honest people that work hard for their money are desperate to lose weight, and want be safe and healthy. Belite can tell you all they want that they don't switch surgeons, but they do. In fact they don't have any authority to assure you that you will receive a particular surgeon in the first place. They are a referral service for the Hospital. They are not facilitators for any surgeon. If you choose to move forward with them, that is your choice. I just want people to know what they will receive for their money. It's your money and you have the right to decide if you want to choose your own surgeon and deal directly with that surgeon's facilitator.

Same reason she puts up all those sites with little content just, "fill this out for information or a quote" Then she will say that a person contacted her first and she wants her money. He is also associated with BeLiteWeight. I would never suggest going to anyone associated with them! That is another big reason to be worried.

I used to but not anymore. That's how I know what I know. Before you ask, I cannot tell you who I worked for because I am truly afraid of what could happen to me. That's all I will say about that. I don't expect anyone to believe anything in particular that I post. What I'm hoping is that I raise questions in those researching surgeons so that they will look good and hard before they make any decisions.

"Lowest complication rate in the industry"? Says who? Them? Ask how many patients they have followed up with. Ask them about their record keeping.

DO NOT USE BELITE! They are unethical have been in lots of legal trouble and you cannot trust anything they say!

I doubt these % stats. All of them. This surgeon doesn't do enough follow up to know the true answers anyway. I personally would use someone else. I wanted to be in a hospital and NOT a clinic and didn't want to be part of the revolving door of patients. This is my opinion.

Next time you talk to Joanne at belite ask her how many times she has been sued (and lost) for fraud.

If you want to use Dr. Rod go to him directly. Just make sure you stay away from Belite! They are unethical liars!
