    What ya eating tonight?

I don't think that was dumping. That was just vomiting, probably from the bread because that is pretty hard to digest. Dumping has to do with a certain amount of sugar or fat that hits your intestine too quickly. You sweat, you get chills, you feel like you are going to die. There's nothing you can do about it until it passes through, and that takes 15 - 60 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  2. I tried on some 20s today which fit initially, but I ended up needing to unbutton when I sat down. So, not time yet. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

To log, or not to log

My issue with weight watchers in the past is that I would obsess over points and if I was under for the day, I would figure out what "fun" way I could spend those last 3 or 4 points. I think that's how I developed a night time eating habit, because I'd realize I had some point I could spend at 8pm and would snack in front of the tv. I *never* did that before. I'm just afraid tracking food will lead to calorie counting, which will lead to me finding ways to sneak in bad stuff. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  4. At 4 weeks out, I can only drink half, but I always use ff milk and blend with ice. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  5. Everyone seems to be using MFP, so I'm feeling like maybe I should jump on the bandwagon. I can totally see the benefit of being able to track Protein and calories and micronutrients. However, I do not want to obsess about food anymore. I've spent 25 years in an unhealthy relationship with food, obsessing over what I can eat, want to eat, should eat, or won't eat. I'm afraid to open that door again. I'm 4 weeks out, and still having a love/hate relationship with food because of the anatomical changes and some things hurt going down, but I'm not obsessed anymore. It's awesome! I was hungry; I scrambled an egg, ate half, and now I'm done. So I'm torn. Can people be successful and not log? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  6. That's called a stall. It will pick up again. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  7. I'm down 25 lbs and still wearing my size 22 jeans <sigh>. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  8. The leak test was day after surgery in hospital. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  9. I had very little pain management. The Roxicet, morphine, lortab, and dilaudid did very little for me except knock me out, but they kept trying different things. What helped TREMENDOUSLY was an abdominal binder, which I didn't get until was already a week post op. I would get on amazon now and get yourself one. I had a deep incision and sutures on the left side and 4 weeks out, it still hurts if I don't have that binder on. I wear it all the time, even to sleep. If I forget to put it on after my shower, I totally feel it within 5 or 10 minutes. But as soon as I got that binder, pain was gone almost instantly. The brand I got is Gabrialla. 10. Europeans, in general, do not have the extent of obesity problems that Americans have. There is less reliance on cars, more physical lifestyles, such as walking or biking, less reliance on processed foods, and even the quality of the whole foods is far superior to that in the US. Dairy products typically come from happy, Grassfed cows, for example. Chickens are not factory raised. They roam around on farms. Less pesticides are used on produce. I could go on and on. So yes, from the perspective of a non-American, wls is a bit drastic. Were u a born and raised Brit, chances are you wouldn't need it. I have quite a bit of family in Germany and I am definitely not sharing my surgery with them. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  11. Nothing really. I got weighed, vitals, steri strips removed, I asked surgeon questions. The end. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    What ya eating tonight?

Try the Shelly's cheesy cauliflower casserole. I added ground beef because I tolerate it well. I am 4 weeks post op. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    What ya eating tonight?

Shelly's Cheesy Cauliflower Casserole (with ground beef) from the Eggface blog. Yowza, guys. Everyone should go make this. I used Italian seasoned breadcrumbs which are delightful. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  14. I'm not yet 4 weeks out, but I can easily eat 1/2 cup or more of food. I can eat a complete Dannon Greek yogurt or a whole Emily Bites "cupcake" or 1 whole scrambled egg. I keep hearing about people saying they get stuffed after 3 bites. Not me! I also get hungry and I definitely have an appetite. Is this normal? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  15. Very hungry. Had a Babybel and some tuna. Still hungry, so I was going to reblend my half Protein shake from yesterday, but then it occurred to me that it's a liquid and I can't have that until 30 minutes has passed. Right? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
