I started my incline at 4% and increase by 1% each week....it takes me about 60 minutes to do the 5 miles walking and running, weights it just depends on what I'm doing for my upper body I use 5 to 20 pounds and legs I go up to 50 to 80 pounds, 12 to 15 reps and I go into the sauna 15 to 30 minutes just depends on how I feel. You have to set up a program that you're comfortable with. When toning use light weights and do a lot of reps per set and get at least 30 minutes of cardio. You have to listen to your body and push yourself...set goals each week.

O.k. ladies and gentleman I had my surgery on 21 Jan in Weiden Germany. I was in the hospital for four days. I think that was the worst part for me. I got a liter of water in me the day after and have increased the intake everyday since. I got to eat my first "meal" day three. I had to force myself to eat and I'm still doing that. I'm getting 4 to 6 ounces of protein shake down at a time and not finding a "full" feeling, so I'm a little worried about that, time will tell. I read a post somewhere here about burping indicating you're full, so I'm using this as a guide. As far as pain I tolerate a great deal, so I would say I feel something uncomfortable and annoying. I did get my period on day 3 even though i had it a week prior, so i do have cramps. I also have gas and will trying the gas x strips as suggested, but everyone is right walking does help with that and highly suggest it! To all getting ready to have surgery GOOD LUCK! You have nothing to worry about.

I put kidney beans, black beans, navy beans, and chili beans, ground turkey, can of crushed tomatoes, tomato soup in the crock pot. You season how you want with ground peppers, chili powder, garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, and a squirt of spicy mustard. Just examples of what I normally use. I also use the food prosper and chop up broccoli, spinach, or other veggies my family doesn't eat. Helps disguise them and adds great flavor! You can buy hormel turkey chili in the store 29 grams of protein per serving. I also had surgery on the 21st and because of my current portion size I've just bought the hormel and eat of it for the week. I add cheese and have had ritz wheat crackers and some fritos corn chips (not many) doc o.k.ed it. I've been lucky no complications and I'm eating well so far....knock n wood. -

DOS 1/21/2013 I'm down 28 lbs since my surgery. I went back to work one week after surgery half days and worked my first full day today. I had my first follow up dr appt yesterday and I have progressed to adding soft foods such as turkey chili, meatloaf, etc. I was even told I could try pasta. I was concerned about that when my nutritionist said I could have it. I've read all over here that pasta is a problem, but the nutritionist said its fine if I chew well and eat slowly. Guess what she was right. I ate less than an 1/8 of cup with my turkey meatballs and sauce, but it was devious especially after only having yogurt, protein shakes, and blenderized soup! I've only had a positive experience since the surgery and I'm so grateful! -

I schedule my surgery specifically a week after I knew I would have my cycle, but then two days after I had the surgery I got it again. The pain I felt was from the cramps not the surgery, it made me bloat and retain water. I'm not worried, but a little frustrated as I gained weight bc of this. I now I'll be fine, but would like to see some sort or instant result.

I start my full liquid diet tomorrow. I hope I can do this, I've been doing two shakes a day and then having dinner. By the time I get home from work my head is killing me, I hope I can do total liquid diet until the 21st! Oy vey! Can I have tomatoe soup? Did anyone have an endoscopy or colonoscopy before surgery? I have to go in on the 16th until the 18th for these and then have surgery on the 21st.

I just joined....and I'm not sure how to use the app, I've had to go to the website to post in this forum????? I'm confused but anyway I'm having surgery 21 Jan and I'm scared half to death. I'm in Germany so besides the normal concerns there is the language barrier. Reading the different threads has helped ease my worries.
