Regretting my choice
laurelle1980 replied to annalobdell79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in the exact same boat you are in. My surgery was the day after yours 12-12-12, I lost a lot of weight and then not a pound for almost 3 wks, I cried and wondered why I did this to myself, now a week and a half later, I am down atleast 6 pounds ( haven't weighed since Monday ). I changed a couple things, I made sure I was getting 800 calories and 60 grams of protein everyday. I also stopped stepping on the scale every day, it feels really good to see a bigger number when I'm only weighing once a week. Keep your head up and stay strong, we can do this...if u ever need to talk, u can message me, our surgery dates are so close :-) -

I am going to the gym and getting my protein but after reading some posts on here I'm not sure if I'm getting enough calories. I get between 400-500 a day......any advice?? Thanks to everyone for all the advice, u guys are great :-) -

I did force myself to get 800 yesterday and when I stepped on the scale today, I gained 2 pounds!! I am one of those crazies that weigh myself every day, I know I shouldn't but I can't help it...... -

Had to drive 6hrs home
laurelle1980 replied to cc1800's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in a lot of pain for 2 wks. It was horrible to force myself to walk. I get jealous when I hear people say the surgery was nothing lol......I guess everyone is different or I am just a big baby as well :-) -
So I didn't lose any weight for 2 wks, I talked to my nutrionist and she told me that I wasn't getting enough calories and my body was starving.....so yesterday, I forced myself to eat 800 calories and I got 75 grams of protein, well I gained 2 pounds!!!! I hate food.....

Thanks ladies....I talked to my nutrionist today and she said the same thing, between 800-1000 a day. I am just so scared to stretch my pouch, I don't know how I'm going to get that much in but I'm gonna try! -
Finally post op!

Congrats and WTG!! That is an awesome weight loss pre op. Welcome to the losers bench :-) -
I have learned to not stress even over what my doctors say. He told me to only eat 3 ounces 3 times a day, well I didn't lose weight for 2 wks and my nutritionist said I wasn't getting enough calories. I think everyone's bodies are different and we can only find out for ourselves what works best for us. I like to hear everyones advice and see what is working for everyone but I agree that noone should be negative or talk like they are experts. We all started in the same boat and should help each other not to sink......

Getting off the CPAP
laurelle1980 replied to gottagetfit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used my cpap one time after I came home and kept waking up so I stopped using it. I'm 6 wks post op and consider myself off of my cpap :-) -
I haven't had any "dumping", or atleast I don't think, so I wonder the same Thing sometimes.....is this " pouch" working but every few days I will eat something that does not settle right and it won't stay down. I think I am just one of those people that don't " dump" badly like I have heard.

Crystal Light Saved My Life
laurelle1980 replied to libra_lisa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having the same problems with my vitamins. I am 6 wks post op and still can't get the multi vitamin powder down and the chewable iron is gross. I am going to call my nut tomorrow and see if I can switch. I agree crystal light is a lifesaver, its all I drink. I love the pink lemonade...... -
I know that I drank more than the 1 oz every 15 minutes. I was so thirsty and now I am 6 wks out and still feel like I drink all day. It didn't bother my "pouch" but food is a completely different story. I still can't get much food down.......so I wouldn't worry about it, you are doing fine :-)

I hiccup constantly too so I feel your frustration lol.... -
Hello....I am almost 5 wks post op and have been an emotional mess for the past 3 days. I kept telling everyone that I was not going to change, I would still be the same person but it seems like everyone around me is treating me different which IS making me act a little different. I am also going through crying spells daily. Anyone else experiencing this???

laurelle1980 replied to laurelle1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you everyone for the support. I feel so much better that this is a phase and will pass. This forum is great and has helped me out so much.......I did have depression issues before the surgery and am on medication but doesn't seem to be helping lately. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon. Thanks again and keep losing...... :-) -
