    Cooking Easter dinner

This was my Easter brunch for the family... I had a Greek yogurt .... And actually all but the egg bake was healthy. Totally had fun experimenting with healthy recipes and the family loved it

    Creamy tomato soup

unjury has a Protein flavored soup. Also fat free cream of chicken .. Just ad unflavored protein. I would also drink sugar free international Swiss mocha with a scoop of protein (make sure it isn't over 140 degrees when you ad the protein) fat free mushroom soup is also good. Make sure you purée any chunks.
  3. Definitively call again .. Or call you internist for advice... They must have an on call line. Good luck
  4. Great and so true... Thanks for sharing!

    Friday Weigh-In!

SW 260 CW 229 SD 2/26/13 Lost 6 lbs this week ... Wow! Total of 31 lbs. happy Friday! Really makes up for the week I didn't loose.. Everyone is right. Be patient and it will happen.
  10. You just need to mash it well. I do run it through the food processor real quick with the mayo. It's just easier to get down... Remember to chew!
  11. I was nauseous but did not get sick.. The nurses were great about getting that under control... An I was never nauseous again. I'm sure there is an alternative to morphine... They typically give anti nausea meds prior to the iv pain meds as well.
  12. I did the same thing... Haha

    Stall Already ?!

Don't worry.. I was where you were 2 weeks ago and everyone is right. Follow the plan and it will happen. I set the alarm on my phone to remind me to eat-drink-exercise-and take my Vitamins. It really helps. And I use My fitnessPal Ap on my phone to log everything... I'm very visual and it easy for me to not eat because I'm just not hungry. Keep positive and don't stress.

I love seeing all the pics. You are all such an inspiration!!
  15. I make butternut squash soup One squash cubed 3 apples peeled and cubed 1 small onion 1 can of low sodium vegetable stock Cook on low until soft Then with a hand mixer to purée right in the pot. If you don't have one of the high speed hand mixers, transfer to a food processor or blender. Then back in the soup pot add 2 Tbsp of reduced fat peanut butter 1/4 cup of lime juice 1/2 cup of fresh cilantro (chopped) I just use scissors Cook for 10 more minutes and your all set.. Easy and so good Hardest part is cutting the squash so I buy the precut if my hubby's not around ... Enjoy!
  16. Wow ... Lucky girl. I'm still in the second stage diet but not allowed fruits (except banana) until the forth stage diet.

Heat oven at 375 and bake for 10 minutes.. It's a small tsp drop cookie.. Cool about 1 minutes before removing from pan.
  19. I think everyone has different pain tolerance. It is best if you have something to compare it to. I've had about six surgeries the last being a colon resection which was a 5 hour surgery...and the worst. They didn't even get me out of the bed for two days. Compared to that this was a piece of cake. The worst part for me was when I woke up. I've never been nauseous before after surgery, but once they got it under control I was fine. That evening I was doing laps in the hallway. They had me on morphine the first day and switched over to vicadin... sent home with vicadin but didn't really need it. I think I took one the night I got home. I think the staples hurt worse thant the incision...I really still can't figure out why they had to staple small lap incisions Good Luck!

    Easter Dinner

I'm doing it by making Easter Brunch. I love to cook and make new foods so my family are the test subjects. I get through it by doing the cooking and presenting. I'll make a selection of healthy choices and throw in a couple not so healthy. I'm putting little cards on the buffet by each food with the calorie count per serving. I'm only 4 1/2 weeks out so this is my whay of participating in the meal. It makes me feel good and my family gets excited to see what new foods I can put together. My whole family is supportive but I don't like them to feel deprived since they don't really need to loose. Last night I made blueberry lemon yogurt drop Cookies... only 35 calories and they loved them.
  21. Danon Lite and Fit Vanilla Greek Yogurt, Friendship lowfat cottage cheese, tuna with light mayo, Jenni-O turkey burgers, broiled salmon, sugar free pudding, canned shrimp with light mayo, applesauce, scrambled egg beaters or eggwhites...Of course all of the meats and fish are put into a food processor... I'm on my last week of pureed thank goodness. Oh and don't forget two protein shakes a day!
