I am so late responding to this thread but a newbie. I just want to say I completely understand about the weight HOWEVER I agree with one of the other posts that said I'd your husband I friends with this bitch and 1 allowed her to hang on him and didn't check her and 2 that he didn't put her on blast on FB when she wrote that you have much bigger than weight. I had an instance where my husband had an affair 4 years ago and the whores friend made comments about me regarding a pic I cursed that bitch out and than my husband cursed her out and blocked her. There is a misconception that once we lose the weight all of our self esteem issues and insecurities go away with the weight. But they are still there just in a smaller body. Do people react to you differently because your smaller yes such ignorance but TAKE CARE OF YOU!!!! you are BEAUTIFUL.

This topic had me laughing and I read all 9 pages of responses. So glad there is a forum for such things that we can talk freely about. All I can say is after sitting here eating a protein bar my hubby's protein tastes better lol

I'm in the same boat as the both of you. My hubby says I'm sexy and loves me but if i didnt initiate it i would not get it and i want it. My husband and I never had a bad sex life. The sex is great. But now that I have lost so much weight I definitely have more energy and ready to be more daring LOL he will look at me and say didn't we have sex the other night? You just don't get enough. I say nope. You would think they'd be happy

I am selfish...possibly for the first time in my life.
lenabeena replied to douchewafflebear's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Exactly!!!! I feel the same way. I love my husband and my kids dearly. I knew I had to do something about this weight. My husband like yours loved me just as much at 300+ pounds. And yes thats great BUT if i wanted to be around to see our 20th, 30th anniversary and see my daughters graduate from college I (Lena) had to do this for me. Because no one is walking this path but me. For the 1st time ever In my life I'm putting Lena first. I printed the quote out and have it at my desk and on my fridge at home. My husband said to me good for you because it's about time. -

Lose Skin After Surgery
lenabeena replied to Lovebone89's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi... I am 4 months post op and I do have excess skin. Mostly on my arms (I ALWAYS had big arms) now I have bat wings. My upper thighs are now showing signs of loose skin. My stomach not so much. Before surgery I watched videos on You Tube and showed people showing their access skin I was PETRIFIED to have surgery because of it. So when i made the decision to have surgery I also made the commitment to start exercising to help alleviate or minimize the access skin. I believe it defiantly helped. I weighed 340 on day 1 of my 6 month journey on my surgery day (9-10-12) i weighed 275 I am now 211. I work out 3-4 times a week at the gym and do sit ups everyday. I have now become very self conscious of my butt (because for the first time ever it's almost flat) so now I have stepped up workouts to help with that. Like the other posts state you have to make the commitment to work really hard. Good luck !! It's not going to be easy but you will feel so much better and healthier. ???? -
Yes I have 1/2 for breakfast & lunch. Honestly pretty full. I try to get in all my protein but sometimes it just doesn't happen. The one thing I have learned is that we get different advice from our Nutritionists. Mine said I should be eating 3 Times a day and when I said how am I to get all my protein when I can barely eat 2 ounces she said well if you have up snack than do so. That's why I turned to the bars because 1 bar has 30 grams if protein. It's hard when your not hungry. I do my best to get my minimum of 60 grams. If I get more cudos for me if not I tried. But I make sure I drink my fluids and take my vitamins VERY IMPORTANT. Your doing great, keep up the good work.

I Wish I Had Known Before Surgery...

This was very insightful and touching. Definitely made me think. I'm going to save this story. -
Everyone is different I have felt the same way at times. I'm 4 months post op and I can drink a few gulps of water sometimes and others I can't. It doesn't mean you have stretched out your stomach I have learned there are things that we are able to have a little more of like water for instance. Be glad that you can because getting your fluids in is a BIG requirement of the surgery. Hope this helps. Good luck :-)

I had my surgery 9/10/12. It has been hard for me to get in all of my protein as well BUT I have been getting protein bars that have between 30-32 grams of protein and I eat 1/2 for breakfast 1/2 for lunch at least that puts me at the 1/2 way mark for my minimum protein. So you may want to try that. Granted they don't taste great but tolerable so far. The protein drinks for some reason my "new" stomach said nope I don't like these. The water you will be able to build up to it I put bottles of water in the freezer and take out in the morning so as they thaw I drink its great because I can't over drink (got sick too many times from that) and its delicious because Its ice cold. Hope my suggestions help. Keep up the great work and don't be discouraged.

Does Bcbs Pays For Cosmetic Sx?
lenabeena replied to Yodelania's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had my surgery September 10,2012 and I have been thinking about plastics also more so for my arms and legs than my stomach (well at least so far) I work out at the gym 3 days a week and work out at home but the bat wings aren't going anywhere and I love to wear short sleeves and sun dresses ect when I was 340 I didn't care about my arms now being 215 I'm so self conscious. I have BCBS also and we were told in support group that you have to prove the access skin is hindering your life you have to have rashes ect. I have looked into paying on my own but I don't have 15,000 and refuse to go into debt for my bat wings so I guess I'll keep using my weights and learn to deal with it until I win the lottery lol. Good luck with your journey and your doing fabulously with your weight loss. Keep up the great work.
