  1. I am finally down 40lbs (woo hoo!). My surgery was on November 20th. I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything that is going on with my body. I have had to purge my closet 4 times now and I work out 5-6 times a weeks (3 days of strength training/weigh lifting). I couldn't figure out why I'm not losing as fast as everyone else. My nutritionist said that chances are that I am building muscle, so I'm just changing a pound of fat with a pound of muscle. I know something is going on because my body is changing rapidly. I'm trying not to get so caught up with the scale anymore. I am seeing the difference in my clothes. Congratulations on all of your achievements!!!

  3. I'm very disappointed in my results so far. I had my surgery on November 20th and I am only down 35lbs. I wish I knew what was wrong with me. It seems like everyone else on this site has lost 50 - 60lbs or more. I only dropped 7lbs in January. I plateau every couple of weeks and won't lose for 2-3 weeks at a time. I work out 5-6 times as week! I've dropped a couple of sizes in my tops and bottoms, but the weight is not coming off. What are you all doing that is allowing the weight to come off so easily? I wish I knew what I was doing wrong. : ( I am so depressed and almost wish I never had the surgery.
  4. I had my surgery on Nov 20th. I'm officially down 30lbs. I'm proud of my accomplishment, however, I've been told that 2 months out, I should be down 40lbs. I have only lost 3lbs this month so far. I work out 4-5 days a week and I'm still struggling to eat 800 calories a day. I know I'm losing inches because my family says they can really tell and my clothes are definitely getting bigger. I take a few bites of food and I feel like I'm going to burst. Any suggestions?
  5. I am about 7 weeks post-op ( November 20, 2012) and so far have lost about 27lbs. I will lose weight for about a week then plateau for 2-3 weeks. I try not to think too hard about it. I have gone down a shirt and pant size,so I know that I am losing inches and I'm getting my waist back : ) My dietician has taken me off of restricted foods (I can eat anything I want). She said that she wants me eating regular foods, so that my new stomach can get use to breaking down raw veggies, salads, fruits, etc. I'm doing really well with this. I am suppose to be eating 800 calories a day. That has been a HUGE struggle. I'm lucky if I can get 600 calories in a day. I know that is why the weight is coming off so slowly. Some of you have been concerned with your protein intake. I drink something called Isopure. It's not a shake. It's a fruity drink that comes in 20 ounce bottles and has 160 calories and 40 grams of protein (Whey). I will admit that they are an acquired taste, but it's added calories and has a ton of protein ( I know, I don't want to lose my hair). I bought them at a Vitamin Store. They come in flavors like Alpine Punch, Mango Peach, Grape, etc...They are a little pricey (a case of 12 cost approx $40.00). My dietician said that drinking 2 a day will give me the calories I need and 80 grams of protein won't hurt anything. She eventually wants to see me only drinking 1 a day and eating the rest of the protein.
  6. Hi everyone and Happy New Year! I went to see my dietician last weeks for my 6 weeks post-op check-up. She said that I am doing great with my excerise and vit/minerals, but my weight loss could be more. She said it's due to the fact that I'm not eating enough (go figure). She has now increased my calories to 800/day. On a good day, I'm lucky if I can get 600 calories in (that includes drinking 2 Isopure Protein drinks). Some days I have no appetite and it's very difficult for me to eat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Katie
  7. I had my surgery on November 20, 2012 and I am down 25lbs. Struggling to get 800 calories in a day. I'm just trying to take things one day at a time!

    Slowly losing!

    Thank you for all of your support. As of December 27th I am now down 25lbs total. I stalled for about 2 1/2 weeks, but by increasing my protein and changing up my walking routine, I am dropping again.

    Slowly losing!

    I am new to this forum. I had RUX-N-Y on November 20, 2012. So far I have lost 19lbs. Unfortunately, I have gained and lost the same 1lb for the last 2 1/2 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this. I am walking more, taking in more protein and trying to eat a little more (which is very difficult to do) to try and jump start my weight loss again. I am so afraid that I won't lose anymore weight. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
