That's an amazing feeling isn't it! I was about to fit into a 20 before surgery, wore a large dress yesterday and can wear either large or XL shirt depending on the arms. My 16 jeans are getting too loose too...some day I'd love to be in a single digit pant size!!!

Congrats girl! You're looking great, can really see it in your face and you are simply radiating!
  4. I'm almost 3 months out and have been experiencing issues when eating heated solid foods. Had a small homemade egg roll today and almost hurled. Heated liquids such as hot Water, tea or decaf coffee don't bother my tummy at all. I appreciate the fact that I feel full fast, but I don't want to feel like I'm about to throw up after 1-3 bites of food. It's made it very difficult to get my Protein in. I can eat an entire rice cake, (in several bites) but not a small boneless skinless chicken tender, so its not that its just that the liquid goes right through and the solids are sitting. I'm so confused.

  7. Found it!! It's in the Post Op section titled "What newbies need to know". Happy reading and shopping.
  8. I bought a bunch of stuff at the Dollar Tree. A 7 day am/pm pill holder, tiny containers with lids, ziplock baggies, chapsticks-those puppies were all over the house and in our vehicles until i discovered EOS, a couple little ramekins to use for baking small portions, , funnels (I take a few sips out of a water bottle then use it to put vanilla protein powder in a water bottle with an orange crystal lite packet-tastes like a creamcicle),

    Thyroidectomy and WLS...

Very interesting question. I have hypothyroid and my loss is very slow. I take synthroid, and fight for every lb.

    Milk and milky protein drinks

My hubby became lactose intolerant after gbs, I already was.
  11. Fabulous!!!! I love it and think everyone should be given a copy. It's realistic and full of great info. I thought I was prepared, but I was in no way as prepared as I thought I was. I had and still have so much to learn at almost 3 months out.

    Dry skin

I have difficulty getting water in too, and have had really dry skin. Normally its just my body, but since surgery its my face too. I also attribute this to my hypothyroid but I've been using a gentler face wash in the am and pm as well as adding a moisturizer before Bed and before makeup in the am (plus less makeup). My body wash has a moisturizer in it too. I must admit that I almost always forget to moisturize my legs and feet, but I carry lotion in my bag, truck and at work so I'll usually get it on my arms and hands at some point in the day.

easter was hard for me this year, 1st without my grandma as well as not spending it with my family. i actually decided to stay home (and got in a little gym time). the kids didn't really care to go to the in-laws so why bother, plus they were arguing so it pretty much ruined the whole mood and most of the day. can i just say teen girls are CRAZY! my youngest, 13 going on 30, might just do me in i swear...it was an over the cliff kinda day. add to it i've not been on track for the last couple weeks and it's been, (pardon the phrase) eating away at me. strangely warm food is difficult to eat, as well as meat (protein) and i just can't stomach protein drinks. ugh i think it's time to join a support group, just affraid i'll run into people who don't know i had surgery. :[ what do you guys do in moments like these? would it be too bad to just eat cold, low sugar/high protein cereals w/soy milk, yogurt, beans and salads for a while?

That's pretty scary! every time my throat gets sore, I worry about that. Sounds a little paraniod I know-especially since it's more than just swallowing. Hope all is ok.

I know what you mean, I have a hard time with exercise too. I started slow, taking 10 minute walks and increased my time to 20-30 mins. then I went most of last week without going on my walks, felt guilty. Decided to take my sneakers, a t-shirt and yoga pants with me to work today. No excuse not to go down to the gym in the basement before leaving for home. Got in 20 mins on the treadmill and 15 on the bike-wasn't much but it got my booty off the couch.

Totally agree with this-and I say the same about the rate of loss. We are who we are, we have to find peace with that and work it to our own advantage while we figure this out. I was 239.8lbs before, now I'm 8 weeks out and have lost 31.7lbs. I have to say that 208.1lbs still seems like a lot to me and 31.7lbs feels like a slow loss, especially when compared to some "others" losses; however to be fair-if I compare it to even some more "others" losses, maybe it's a lot and I should just be grateful, (which I am, lol). We're all our own worst critics and me knowing I went from 271 to around 190 in 2010 on my own can make me feel like a dope. That being said, it took me about a year to get there and I did gain more than half of it back (I'm praying that will NEVER happen after having this surgery). So yah, I think we all know darn well that we're going to loose differently and should not compare...BUT-we're all gonna sometimes. I just try to stay away from the weigh-in boards and conversations that go too heavily into sizes, not to beat myself up over the scale too much and measure my body too every now and then so when I have an off week I can check for inches lost. I know that support is what I need and want to give-even on the days when I feel ugly as a dog or big as a house. I'm really trying to pick my battles and let some sleeping dogs lie (especially so as not to disturb the mean one that looks back at me in the mirror sometimes and laughs). We only live once right? Better make it awesome!

It's a no-no for me, but I don't remember for how long. I do it anyway sometimes (probably 5x's in the 2mos since surgery). I totally agree with you that it would make it easier with the protein drinks-especially to get past the smell and make it go down faster. I'll probably have my daughter bring me some from her work for those occasions-they have the large ones.
  19. you can also check out another youtuber, missgretaification . she's a little over the top, but she says it like it is and had both her WLS and plastic surgery there. good luck, this is a great topic-there are unlimted choices.

    What ya eating tonight?

Tonight it was 1/2c chili with a little onion and some cheese plus about 8 small left over swtpto fries. Last night I had 3 medium sized shrimp lightly sautéed in olive oil, a minced garlic clove and juice from an orange plus a handful of baked sweet potato fries. Staying away from most meats and chicken-they haven't been agreeing with me and bread is just out of the question. In fact, aside from the protein bars (which I only eat when I didn't plan well) I feel like I'm eating mostly soft and slightly chewy stuff. Strange.
