It does go away. I was like that for the first 2 weeks or so. Much better now.

What ya eating tonight?
pookybear replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought one on clearance but haven't used it yet. Been measuring 1/2 cup out. But I will use it when I buy meats and pre easier them, or once I'm able to eat nuts for snacks. -
Surgery was 3/19, Discharged 24 hours after RNY?
pookybear replied to Ab1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most people in my program go home the next day. They gave me the option to stay a second day and I took it, wanted to make sure I had no problems. -
Ok so I know I'm supposed to just eat 1/2 cup at a time. But am I the only one that looks at that amount and and is in complete denial that it will fill me up? No matter how many times I eat and it actually DOES fill me up, I still look at my tiny lunch or dinner every day and think to myself that there's no way this is enough food. This goes away, right??

You should be limiting yourself to 1/2 cup and if you're still hungry add more protein in with some shakes or snack on some cheese in between meals.
-
Me too! It's almost depressing when I look at it, then I start eating and feel the fullness so quick.

Made ground turkey with seasoned diced tomatoes and melted mozzarella cheese. It's like the meat sauce you'd put on spaghetti, without the Pasta. Mmmm. And have it for lunch the rest of the week lol Re-Birthday: 2/27/13 -

Anyone had any issues with them? I tried the meatloaf for lunch today, thought it would be soft and easy. Ended up leaving work early because I was puking Meatloaf, of all things. Re-Birthday: 2/27/13

Post surgery movement
pookybear replied to bncocky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Really no way to tell when it's that close. Depends on how much walking you'll have to do and how your surgery goes. Not sure I'd chance it. Re-Birthday: 2/27/13 -
how many calories should I take in daily?
pookybear replied to changingme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked my nutritionist how many I should be getting. She said on average about 600-800, but she said not to even pay attention to calories right now. She said right now you should only be counting the protein because you can't possibly eat enough calories for it to matter much at this point. Re-Birthday: 2/27/13 -
Vitamins and other medications
pookybear replied to AmandaPoplin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr said all Vitamins should be chewable. For at least the first month after surgery, all other needs need to be either crushed or liquid. After that I can take the pills. Re-Birthday: 2/27/13 -
How do eggs affect you post-op? Tried them for the first time this morning and I am burping like crazy! (Tmi, I know) Is this normal, or are eggs just a food I may have to avoid? Re-Birthday: 2/27/13

What are non-Fibrous crackers
pookybear replied to Foranewme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think fibrous would be like Triscuts. Try Saltines. They get soft and mushy. Easy to handle. Re-Birthday: 2/27/13 -

depression is taking over!
pookybear replied to changingme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went through several crappy relationships and dates in my life. Got married and divorced 2 years later. Then I met the love of my life, and I've been through my highest weight period with him. He loves me no matter what size I am. He's been there right by my side through the whole pre-op period and surgery. I could not ask for better. One of our friends (a skinny minnie) made a comment today that she wishes her boyfriend treated her as well as mine treats me. The quality men will want you for you, no matter what your size is. They'll see your personality shine through. And some of them actually like big girls Re-Birthday: 2/27/13 -

Had an angus steak egg and cheese wake up wrap for lunch....well, half of one. Not great, but we were on the road and it was the best thing there that I could have. For dinner, corned beef and cabbage! Re-Birthday: 2/27/13 -
Vitamins..in what order?
pookybear replied to RoxyFoxy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here is the regimen my nutritionist put me on: 8am - B-12 & Calcium 11am - Multivitamin 2pm - calcium 5pm - multivitamin 8am - calcium Just make sure you take your calcium at least 2 hours away from your Iron (or multi that includes iron). Calcium blocks the absorption of iron. Re-Birthday: 2/27/13 -
A friend gave me a bottle of Karma Water to try but it has Glucosamine in it. Not sure what form of sugar this is and if it's ok for us to have. Anyone know? The actual sugar content is 2g but the glucosamine is 100% Re-Birthday: 2/27/13

Protein powder need a new brand
pookybear replied to copmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been drinking the Atkins premade shakes, but I did by Syntrax unflavored Protein. Haven't tried it yet. I still have some Body Fortress left over from pre-op that I sometimes use. Made some protein pistachio pudding the other night with it. Yummy! Re-Birthday: 2/27/13 -
I distract myself with my phone while I eat. I take a bite, then go to my phone while I chew. Distracts me for a minute before I take another bite. Re-Birthday: 2/27/13

17 days out - HUNGRY!
pookybear replied to groovykg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Store brand, premade turkey patties. Not frozen. It was like a cheeseburger without the bread, and tons of protein! Re-Birthday: 2/27/13 -
