If everything in it is on your approved list I don't see why not. Just be careful if its the first time trying it.

Fabulous February Post-Op's
pookybear replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to do it for 30 days. I think after that I'll get myself some chewable Pepsid, because I forgot mine one day last week and I was sooo sick. -
Well my LOVELY friend gave me a SF chocolate bunny for Easter. Man I love her. I was worried about the sugar alcohols but so far so good, just eating little bits here and there. Did I mention I love her? Lol

Ok I brought a small Healthy Choice soup to lunch and couldn't even eat 1/4 of it. Yet I had no problem eating 1/2 cup or more of corned beef and cabbage last week. Wth it's just soup. I don't get it. The little guy living in my pouch is extremely moody. -
Well my first one was when I tried on my jeans that I could barely get over my butt post op, let alone button or zip....and they fit comfortably! Second one was yesterday, we went out for lunch and sat in a booth, and I didn't have to wedge myself in! I slid in just fine and had room to put my hands between me and the table! Yay

Transition of Pureed Foods to Regular Foods
pookybear replied to Jill Klein- Auerbach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
DON'T try new things when you're out or at work. Try them at home or on a day off, just in case it doesn't sit well. For now, just bring 'safe' foods with you to work. Also, only try one new thing each day, not more. That way if you do find something bothers you, you know exactly which food it is. -

No, just not ready for solids yet I guess. Canned chicken is fine. Soft stuff has been fine. -

I'm not testing the salad yet. I had solid chicken the other night (very well chewed, I might add), and it all got returned to sender -
Not doing to well!

Keep in mind that working out is burning fat but also building muscle. You may be losing pounds of fat but gaining pounds of muscle at the same time. And congrats on all the weight loss! -

It's definitely a learning process. I'm starting to learn to pay attention to my stomach and not my head or the clock. I'm sure it'll take awhile to get there.

At a cancer benefit tonight, so not much to choose from. Had about 1/3 of a piece of baked stuffed sole and a couple of soft baby carrots. -
I really want Ritz crackers

Saltines are on my approved list, as long as they are chewed to mush. I've had saltines and hummus a few times. -
Canned chicken is great, tuna, ground turkey...lots of things you can make with those. And loads of protein.

Any awesome gadgets we rny peeps need?
pookybear replied to ranee17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also travel locally a lot. I spend weekends at my boyfriend's house. So I got myself a lunch tote that I put snacks and protein powder and vitamins and papaya enzyme tablets in and take it with me for the weekend. Then I'm ready for anything -
I have already had some pasta (lasagna) and it was fine.
-
My nutrition packet says bread is ok but to try to stick with toast or flatbread or wraps.

pookybear replied to ranee17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ninja!!! Some good measuring cups, food scale, small tupperware containers, a pill holder that holds a weeks worth of pills with spaces big enough to fit all the ones you'll need, travel mug (if you're like me and take your Protein drink with you to sip on).....I don't have this, but my uncle had the surgery and he pre measured all his meats and stuff and vacuum sealed them so they'd last. So he didn't have to measure anything post-op. I'd personally rather make larger amounts at one time and fill Tupperware's with servings for the week. Can't think of anything else. -
The worst part was when I had to pee, they made me put that stupid measuring cup in the toilet so they could keep track of my liquid output. So every time I peed I had to call the nurse and have them check it. I hated that, was embarrassing lol
-
I had mine too. Couldn't wear anything at all during surgery, just had a pad under me (ugh). But the nurse helped me put on my own undies and a pad (I brought my own) when I was ready to go for my first walk.

I LOVE turkey burgers! They are a little softer than beef burgers, but taste great. I prefer them over beef.
