Getting all the protein
pookybear replied to wonderwoman75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do cheese as well. Cottage cheese, cheese sticks, and mini baby bells are good. Also eggs have lots of protein. I do my best to get my protein in ever day but there are just some days that I need variety. So some days I don't get nearly enough but I try to fill in at least some of it with cheese snacks in between meals. -
I know it does. But a year and a half is nothing compared to a safe, healthy baby! Not that it can't be done, as jerz is proof! Just think it through and make the best decision for your future baby

I think the main reason most ask you to wait so long is to cut down on your chance of transfer addiction. Mine said he wants me to have the full year to overcome whatever 'food addictions' I may have before adding in alcohol.

3 cheese ravioli's from Papa Gino's. -
Be careful. They tell you to wait for a reason. It's not just your eating, your body is going through a LOT of changes and you want to make sure you are providing a safe environment for the baby.

A second opinion might not be a bad idea. I know you don't want to go too high and jeopardize the weight loss, but right now you have to make sure the little one is well fed there will be plenty of time after he/she is born to lose more weight. -
I have before but I'm honestly not sure if I do now or not. Could be an allergic reaction to the new condoms we got :-/

We're going out to a Thai restaurant with friends tonight. Anyone have any suggestions on things that might be ok? I'm in the soft food stage. -
It depends on your surgeons program. I have to wait a full year.

My book says we should avoid them because its harder to control your intake with them, doesn't mention air. I use them anyway. Not all the time, but I don't avoid them.

pookybear replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks!! It definitely does feel good to tell people I've lost 50 lbs! I feel a difference in some clothes but haven't had to shop yet. I am getting soft and squishy though lol -
We went for it the night of my one week post op appointment. Surgery on Weds, did it the following week on Thursday lol libido never left thankfully still where it's been. I kinda hope it does pick up more as I lose more weight and can do more positions.

I know tomato soup counts as a liquid, can I drink it between meals out of a cup? Or is that considered snacking between meals? -

They are for the most part, this is the first time I've had conflicting info from them. I'm going with the nutritionist's info on this one though. -

Need some advice
pookybear replied to heather200202's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's your decision but PLEASE think it over very thoroughly before you cut ties with family. Like a previous person said, maybe just distancing yourself for awhile might help. I speak from personal experience, you never know what can happen. If you cut ties, and god for it something tragic happens, how will you feel? -

I mean I eat food more than twice a day, not that I eat more chewables. So I took one at breakfast but then either lunch or dinner is going to hurt -
