I know I said I was going with the shot...but I just got a new position at work that will be changing my hours a bit and I will not have any days off during the week anymore to go to the doctors for shots. SO.....when I go at the end of this month I was thinking of asking about Nuvaring. I still am unsure about it. There are many things about it that make me nervous. But it would definitely be more convenient. Who has this and what are your experiences? I feel like it would kinda get lost lol...is it easy to put in and take out? Any issues at all? What about spotting? Falling out? Sex? Lighter Periods?

And it's really easy to put in/take out? The whole 'foreign object' thing makes me nervous.

I do sometimes take some papaya enzyme before eating salad, helps with the digestion. -
Fabulous February Post-Op's

I love salads, they're definitely a go to food for me. I don't like mixed greens, but I love iceberg or romaine lettuce. Along with some cherry tomatoes, chopped cucumber, fresh mushrooms, feta cheese, and a little lite Italian dressing. Yum I also sometimes add olives or green peppers. My fave is tuna salad, and it had protein -
Thanks. Do you feel it when it's in?

Silly question? When were you able to sleep on your stomach.

It took 2-3 weeks before I could sleep comfortably on my stomach -
What does gastric bypass FEEL like?

I still get hungry but not starving hungry like I used to. I usually get kinda uncomfortable when I eat. Like in the center of my chest between the girls. I also get nauseous quite often after I eat. I don't always throw up though. -
Having an 'I wish i never did this' moment

I just want to be normal again. It's not so much that I feel addicted to food. I just can't stand not being normal. For just one day I would love to be able to eat what I actually WANT to eat, rather than having to watch everyone else eat it and being stuck with something I really don't want. Of course it would help tremendously if the people around me actually didn't eat these foods in front of me, but I'm not going to ask them to alter their lives to accommodate me either. So I just either suck it up or go in the other room and cry. -

Thanks, I'm so glad I'm not alone. Today ended up being a day that I ate whatever I wanted and didn't care if I got sick. Had soda and ice cream. The soda was diet and I swished it in my mouth to de-fizz before I swallowed lol. The Ice cream was bad, I know. At least sugar doesn't bother me lol -
Why are we not supposed to have carbonated drinks? I'm not talking about soda necessarily, I understand the sugar and calorie thing. But what about the carbonation?

What can we take for them?

My fave so far is apple pie, but I like all the ones I tried. Except for chocolate brownie, that was just eh.

Maybe a dumb question, but...

I do miss diet Pepsi. Maybe if I flatten it a bit? -

Went out tonight for hibachi for my best friends birthday. I was worried how I'd tolerate it, it's my FAVORITE. I feel great! And I get to eat the leftovers all weekend I'm a happy girl! -

It's easy once you get yourself on a set routine
-
I have alarms set to go off on my iPhone every 3 hours on the weekends to remind me. The problem is myself. It'll go off and if I'm busy I'll tell myself I'll take it as soon as I'm done...then I forget. My mind does not work well with technology lol
-
It's actually not bad at all to follow the schedule I'm on during the week. The weekends get me all out of whack because its off my daily routine lol

Are these common after surgery? I know immediately after it might be because of the antibiotics they give you in the hospital, but what about several weeks out?

Weightloss discouragement
pookybear replied to kellbell5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're doing just fine. You gain a lot from the fluids in the hospital and you lose that weight first. So you've really lost however much that was, plus another 11 pounds. -
