Disappointment In Someone I Thought I Could Trust
clevergrrl replied to jnygrl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Jnygrl, it is illegal for your boss or supervisor to ask anything about your private medical issues, so I'm sure that you can file a complaint about this girl discussing your private medical issues without your consent. I would send her something in writing telling her to cease and desist and report her to hr. People like this are a menace and are desperate for attention. She has to be called to task for her behavior or she will continue and also do it to other people. I would verbally inform her and give her the letter. You will always regret it if you don't verbally put her back in her place. I would!! -
Thirft Stores? Bed Bugs?
clevergrrl replied to worm2872's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, I am a thrift shopper (my mom and daughters just LOVE it) and I always do as another lady said.. Keep it in a plastic bag on the back porch until you can wash it separately in a HOT wash with a capful of Lysol. Then make sure your dryer is always on the highest setting for every load. You and your kids can bring all kinds of critters, not just bed bugs, at any time of the year into your home. The high heat of the dryer will kill anything that the Lysol doesn't. Told to me by an exterminator in the family!! -
10 Week Post Op - Down 87.5lbs
clevergrrl replied to ahanson82520's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well yes I am only a little bit taller, but hey were still in the same boat lol. My dr says he should be able to get me down to 180, and I said according to the charts I should be 140, and he said why are you being so hard on yourself! I guess he's right. I'd probably be a stick at 140. But I'd like to try it! I remember being 140 in 8th grade!! -

Wow Theresa, we have the same HW and nearly the same SW. How tall are you? I am 5'9". Hoping to get to 180 and then see what I think. Good luck to you and I hope you recuperate quickly! -
Chronic nausea and other issues
clevergrrl replied to Erica L1988's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I too am experiencing nausea two weeks out. I had to stay in the hospital for three days after my surgery because of extreme nausea and nearly constant retching. I was in a drip the whole time because I kept throwing up the little drops of liquid they tried to get me to drink. Unfortunately, nausea and I are old friends. With both of my pregnancies, I had Hyperemisis Gravidarium which was 7 months of vomiting. I had home nursing service, a pole, three bags of Fluid a day and my zofran for 6-7 months in each pregnancy. Doctors think I just have a hypersensitivity to nausea. Haven't been taking my zofran but I think I'd better start again and hopefully I can break the cycle. -

Andy, thanks for your words and the inspiration. I am two weeks out today, feeling nauseous after eating or drinking anything, and I have thrown up most of the items on the mushy solids list. Right now I have two foods working for me. But I never seem to quench my thirst or satisfy my tummy. I am trying to keep my eyes on the prize, but I'm starting to wonder why I did this to myself. -
So I survived my surgery, and the three days of nausea in the hospital (yuk) and now I am almost two weeks out trying to keep down food. It's proving difficult.

That's great Lovebone! We have our surgery on the same date. Wishing you all the best and a new beginning!

Mmm that sounds good Mami... Can I come by? I live in Queens. I had to start my liquid diet on Christmas Day believe it or not, and New Years is ruined since I can't drink... But I am looking forward to next year when I will be looking gorgeous!!

today I started it

Wow you are lucky to be able to have steak, potatoes and eggs!! I'm on 5 shakes a day plus Water. That's it!! I kept waking up with terrible headaches but that has stopped now. Also my lips are really chapped, but I think that's because I haven't been great with the water. I am noticing that I am not really thinking about food that much. Following this diet is not as hard as I thought it would be! I think I can do this!! Good luck to you. I am having my surgery on January 8th. -
Hi ladies, This is my first post, but I'm having my surgery on January 8th! So good to "meet" others on the same schedule. I am on day 6 of the liquid diet and I don't think I've lost anything yet! The only thing I cheated with was a little orange two days running, but I think that's ok to eat. Had my pre- surgical testing done today and there is nothing left but to count down the days! Glad the headaches went away. My New Years Eve is ruined this year, but that's ok because next year I'm making my husband take me out because I will get to wear a sexy dress!!

My dr originally had me on Zoloft, and after one year it just stopped working! Maybe that is where your anxiety is coming from. I'm now on Pristiq and Wellbutrin, have been for about 2 years and doing great. Only time I get anxious is if I don't take my adderall or pms. He gave me some Ativan to pop if I get stressed, but I hardly ever take it. I'm worried the surgery and malabsorption will disrupt my mood. Did that happen to you?

Hi Sharon, This is my first post. My surgery is Jan 8th. I take meds for both ADHD and depression.
