My surgery date is July 3rd! No watermelon and vodka for me this year lol... This is going to be a long month! Got all my paperwork together, and menu planned, but I feel like I can't truly prepare. I can only deal with it as it happens. And I couldn't be more excited! This wait is worse than Christmas!!!
-
I was just kidding about the watermelon. I just mean no 4th of July celebration this year. I hope it goes quick. I am so ready to begin this chapter of my life!

That's weird... I have my surgery on July 3rd as well. I am in the pcola area and using lord. I can hardly wait!!! I felt a little deflated when they told me my surgery is in July. Thought it would be sooner

So, I am just waiting for insurance. I am done with my weight loss trial and stuff. I was told today there are plenty of June appointments left... Ah! I am so excited!!! Any thoughts or suggestions on preparation for hospital stay and when I first get home?
-
Awesome! I got a voicemail today saying I had been approved!!! So I will definitely remember all these things! Thanks for the advice. Ill need as much as I can get!!!

So... I have already paid my consultation fee of $525. My job "pays" for this surgery. Which I am so excited about, but I was told by the docs nurse that I only had to prove 3 years worth of obesity... Now Ty are saying 5 years. I have been obese my whole life but maybe not over the 35 bmi required by insurance for the last 5 years. Has anyone else had a similar issue and it turned out ok? I left the doc crying bc this surgery has been yawn focus for a while now and I'm scared it might not happen

Has anyone had to have their gallbladder issues since they've had surgery?
-
Yeah... I keep telling her a lot will change. She has come a long way since I first made this post. I asked her to come meet the doc and he made her feel much better. Plus she has talked to a lot of people on her own which makes me feel good that she is taking that initiative. She knows how much I want this. And as far as the smaller/bigger topic... She is really looking forward to that lol

Well I appreciate all of the support. I have found flooding her with knowledge and testimonies from other has done the trick. She is now on my side and is just as excited as I am.

I have gone to 2 of the 6 required nutritionist visits required for weightloss surgery. I see the surgeon next month to decide what type of surgery I want to have. I am 26 yrs old, 6'3", and 327 with sleep apnea, high cholesterol, pre diabetic, and minor reflux. Dieting hasn't worked too well bc I always gain it back. I've been on 4 major (and expensive) diets since I was 13. I am just so tired and beat down feeling... My wife is scared for me to have gastric bypass and I am too but I am starting to feel likes its my only option. Any encouraging words?
-
So despite the lack of support, do you regret your decision to do it?
-
Haha I found that I have obstructive sleep apnea. That's the kind that weight loss can alleviate, but not totally cure. So, I'm 26 and if I lost weight I would probably stop needing it. But at some point when im older ill have to get back on it. For now though, I get excited about sleeping with it. Positive reinforcements at its finest haha

According to my sleep doc it depends what kind if sleep apnea you have. I cant remember what type i have and I haven't had surgery YET but according to him, losing weight can alleviate it but won't cure it. He said he doesn't even bother telling older individuals to try losing weight to get off the machine bc it doesn't change anything. And oh my, do I miss sleeping on my belly. Don't know what you have Til it's gone lol

Thanks. I'm just looking for confirmation that I'm not doing something crazy. Makes sense to me, but not to everyone else apparently. Started out wanting the band, but now I'm not so sure. Tired of being slave to food. Thanks for the support
