I put something in my mouth, (baked apple slice), and it was so hot I barely chewed it up. I've been puking with bad chest pain most of the afternoon. Ugh- don't eat stuff that's too hot to chew! -

I made the fam biscuits and gravy. We get whole fresh cows milk (unpasteurized) and paired with the sausage it was yum. I had about 1/3 c of gravy. It's snowing here in KS and I was wanting comfort food. I love how these tiny servings hit the spot and are satisfying! -

Fabulous February Post-Op's
agirlofaith replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my speed deprived state last night I asked my husband to bring me a hot fudge banana shake. I drank 1/3 of a small size then was in the bathroom 30 min later. Lets just say I was completely cleaned out! I ate an orange segment yesterday also, then chewed another one and spit it out- then puked up the first orange segment. My dad said he was unable to ever puke when food was stuck. I'm so glad I don't have that problem and can get it out! My husband cooked stuffed zucchini boats for supper last night. Mushrooms, onions, bacon, cheese and egg were in them! It was so DELISH and I didn't get sick! I was able to eat about a 4" slice of it! -

Slowly but surely.... My morning weight was 192- that's 30# down from highest of 222 when I was approved. I'm good with slow. I know it will happen and I'm O.K. With the amount of time it can take. I'm on stage 3 and though I can't find my papers for stage 3 I'm just doing mushy/soft. I've 'thrown up' a few times- more like slide the food back up and felt better- and I am really learning about my new self. I know I'm under protein daily and probably calories but its a work in progress- hard to be on spring break and not walking and sipping all day like I do at school. Also have gone through a period where I didn't drop weight for over a week- a literal PERIOD- it's nice to see the scale moving again!! I went back full time after 2 weeks off- I have 3 Days 1/2 day before full time and now I have a week of spring break!! I'm seriously feeling so blessed with how this has gone and how well I've felt. I haven't been around much because spring break is busy around here with 6 kids!! Hope all is well and I do lurk almost daily!! -Wendee -

my first follow up
agirlofaith replied to madenkorea's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No reason other then she doesn't want any kind of 'solid' foods next to the stitches in my pouch. She wants it to get good and healed. I can understand that, last thing I want to do is blow a gasket! I had 6 incisions, not 7- they are healing up just great and she said would be totally flat once healed. -

Well dang! Had my 1st follow up and she said no eggs, no mushy- only full liquids! I have lost 17 pounds though! Guess its back to puréed soup and other non chewing items -
my first follow up
agirlofaith replied to madenkorea's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good job Maden!! I go tomorrow for my follow up- my surgery was also feb 20th. I had 6 cuts but nothing out of the ordinary. I've done super great on food- the oddest things I've had has been roasted sweet potato fries (light toss with evoo, salt, pepper, garlic pwdr, onion powder and garam masala) and then I fried an egg over easy and broke it on about 1/4 c of the mashed fries! It was so good- had to eat it in 2 different settings! Tonight I crock potted skinless boneless thighs with our home made salsa, can of chilies and taco seasoning and a block of cream cheese. It was so tender I smashed it up- put about an 1/8 of a cup in a bowl, sprinkled a tiny bit of Mexican cheese blend and added a few spoon fulls of the juice from the can of corn I heated for everyone else. DELISH!! Seems I'm tolerating things great and chewing until its liquid and taking tiny bites! Also listening to how I feel while eating so I don't push myself! Haven't been sick or anything yet. I love maltomeal too with Protein powder added, but I'm pretty much done with sf puddings and sf Jello and other full liquids like that. Hope she says I'm doing ok even though I'm early on! -
You can make a cauliflower crust!! I actually love zucchini boats that have yummy stuff on top! There is also an egg crust you can do, here is a low carb site I get recipes from! http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/
