  1. What city does it say with your name? I have multiple Crystal hyltons come up in my search.
  2. Me too....it isn't coming up when I search for it. I would love to be added. My facebook name is Tina West Way in Connecticut.
  3. I live in Connecticut & this winter I have been colder than ever! Losing all my insulation I guess, but I am ready to be warm!
  4. I agree! I don't always have time to post but I read every thing as it comes into my email and it is always encouraging to see that I am not alone! Scale broke a week or so ago when our apartment flooded, but at last check I have gone from 320 right before surgery to 265. I have gone from 4x & sz 28 or 30 to 1x & 2× (depending) & 22 pants. I am still struggling to get my fluids in & just this past week started working out a little.
  5. Hi all! I had a post op visit with the surgeon yesterday. I am 7 weeks out & the last 2 weeks I have really felt like I was stalling & not doing well. I am not getting enough off my fluids in & still having a hard time finding food that tastes good...plus can still only eat a few bites, so I really didn't know what to expect. I am happy to report that he says I sm doing great & I have lost 27% of my excess weight already, which is 44 pounds since my surgery. (80 lbs from a year ago when I started the whole lifestyle change). So even though it seems slow to me, I guess it IS working!!!
  6. Hi! I sent you a mfp friend request this morning. I have been bad about filling in my food for a couple of days but I am back on the ball I think again now. Just got busy & let it slide.
  7. I had multiple allergic reactions after surgery. I ended up allergic to the glue they used to seal my incisions and then I broke out all over my torso which I ended up in the ER with. Turns out I was also allergic to the iodine they coat your body with prior to surgery, kind of a delayed reaction. Took quite awhile to work out of my system....it was very frustrating.
  8. The way my surgeon described it to me is that you should expect to lose 60% of what you are overweight in your first year following surgery.
  9. i am almost 6 weeks and I cant get 1/2 cup down at one sitting yet! I get so frustrated. I dont know why I let it bother me cuz I am not "hungry" but it drives me crazy cuz it just doesnt seem like enough.
  10. I agree! I wish someone would make me a designated meal plan! Of course since we are all different, it isnt that easy, but that sure would help. I have a hard time figuring out what "regular" food to eat.
  11. Love your logic! I need to remind myself this too!
  12. How exactly do you make this tuna salad? It sounds really yummy! You should post a recipe! I had tuna salad at Panera and my stomach did ok with it, but when I made it at home it didnt settle real well. I would like to try your version.
  13. Really struggling with fluids & food because I have been sick the last few days. Anyone else going through this? I am worried I am getting dehydrated or going to put myself into starvation mode by taking in too few calories but I am sleeping so much and feel like crap. My regular doc said it was just viral & had to run its course so naturally I am miserable. I dont mean to be a worrier or a whiner ... lol....but I am wondering if I should check in with my surgeon and not just my regular doc. My next appt isnt until the 11th with the surgeon. My weight hasnt come to a complete standstill but almost.....
  14. Ok, I am new here & new to forums but have a question that maybe someone can give me some insight with. I am about 3 wks post op and have been doing some soft food for the past week with pretty good success. Mostly soup, tuna salad, baked potato, yogurt, scrambled egg & cream of wheat. The past 24 hours all of a sudden I am getting horrible pain when I am eating but the food is the same. I can't tell if it is air or what but it hurts bad. Any suggestions? Comments?
  15. I used them regularly prior to surgery & their products are delish! However, my NUT recommended not using them as their protein isnt as high & their carbs are a little higher so I ended up bailing on them when I started my pre-op diet.

    Please Help

I found an awesome cookbook this weekend at Barnes & Noble called Weight loss surgery cooking for dummies. It has great recipes & info for all stages post op & for banding, rny & sleeve patients. I am very happy with it already!
  17. Oh....and I am also on fitness pal if anyone else is. I only have one other friend on there right now....my sister. Lol. My user name is tinaway69.
  18. I am about 3.5 weeks post op & 30 lbs down. I had to go to Goodwill this weekend to get some clothes that fit. I have to admit that was a good feeling! Sizes I haven't been into in years! I still am not getting near enough fluids in. Anyone have any tips or secrets? I am told it takes 2 weeks to make a new habit. Ugh! :/

    Pain when I eat

Thanks! I have been doing much better with even smaller, slower bites. Its funny how you think your bites are small enough but I guess they really werent.

    Pain when I eat

Right in the middle of my chest right below my breast. I tried even smaller bites...that seemed to help a little so maybe that is my issue. Maybe I am getting a little cocky with the food...lol.
  21. I hope I am posting this correctly. I am new to the site. I had my surgery the day before Thanksgiving. I am finally on some foods now & even though I really wasnt hungry, I was sooo bored with the fluids. It is nice to be able to chew again! Still have trouble getting the suggested amount of fluids in during the day. Anyone else have that trouble? How do you get anything done but drink all day? Ugh!
