I had mine in Rochester on 12/17. Things are going very well and I'm losing slowly but surely.

Hi all - Well I made it through my surgery on Monday and came home late this morning. My surgery didn't start until 6 pm on Monday (instead of 3) because they had some emergency. It seems like so long ago already. I'm so happy to home in the quietness and not have someone waking me up every hour. I'm doing okay. My biggest complaint is that I have had a headache for at least a day. The pain meds help but I'd feel much better if it were gone. I'm finishing my last bit of Protein for the day, then a shower and to bed!! I'm very tired and looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. JPR - sounds like your moving along quiet nicely. And already getting rid of clothes is terrific.

Thanks for the input. So how are you feeling? Are you still on pain meds and have you had your stiches out? How's your experience been so far? Another question for the Highlanders - did you have to drink something and have a scan to make sure you weren't leaking?

Just a few more days until surgery. A few questions for the Highland Hospital group -- especially those who had O'Malley. Does O'Malley leave a drain in? Were you in for 1 or 2 nights? How many days til you got your staples out? How long were you on clear liquids before you went to full liquids? I'm having surgery on Monday and have tickets for the RPO on Friday. I'm really hoping that I can just go and sit there. Is this wishful thinking? ' How were you feeling 7-8 days out. This will be Christmas and we're having company. I just want to know what to expect at that point.

Hi everyone - I'm from Rochester, too. I'm scheduled w. Dr. O'Malley on 12/17. I had my pre-op today. I guess it's really going to happen. To say I'm nervous would be an understatement. I'm not so worried about the surgery. I've had a few "open" surgeries, so laparscopic seems lke a walk in the park. I'm most worried about things like - what if I don't Ifeel well for the rest of my life, what if you have to vomit and your at work in a meeting, what if you get that horrible smelly gas and your at work in a meeting, or you dump while you're at work. I havent told anyone at work. Actually, Ive only told hubby and children and sister who is physians assistant. I'll probably tell my boss tomorrow. How about you guys? did you tell people? What did you find most challenging when you first got home from the hospital? What did you do to prepare? What didn't you do or have that you wish you did? I'm counting on you to help me prep Today I bought Protein powder from the Highland Hosp pharmacy and some Vitamins. These items are at least a few dollars cheaper there and the Protein Powder you can only get online so it saved on shipping too. JPR - I hope that you are still feeling well and are up and around!
