I am your surgery buddy - two weeks. It sounds crazy.

Two weeks exactly till my surgery! Do I have the right to be freaking out or what! Lol

Today is the day, I'm scheduled to go in at 1030 were up and getting around mow and then headed off to the hospital yayy. Lol

Had my surgery 2/21/2013. Did not do well pre op. Actually hit my high weight right before surgery at 356. I am proud to say I hit 256 yesterday. 100 lbs in 14 weeks. Now to lose the other 100 lbs.

We never discussed goals and no one set one for me. My only real goal is to feel better, be healthy, do things with my husband, and enjoy my life.

One year surgiversary is coming up! I was 287 the day of surgery, but my highest was 330. I'm currently at 168, and hope to by 160 by July 23rd which is my one year! But I'm pretty happy with how far I've come so far!

Ok, so I know that upon undergoing any wls one must "change his lifestyle toward eating healthy". I just don't understand how that happens when we have gone thru our lives unable to "change our lifestyle" in order to lose weight and keep it off....how does having bypass really help in the LONG RUN with that?? I don't want to go thru surgery just to gain my weight back...

I simply cannot believe how time flies. It seems like yesterday I was still contemplating surgery and going to my first informational meeting. At that time, my biggest goal was to fit back into my size 14 Old Navy jeans I've had for 10 years. Well, I've quite surpassed that. I now wear a size 12 jeans (size 10 in dress pants), and can go as far down as a Medium in blouses. I can't express how wonderful it is to be able to walk into a store and go into the "regular" section. My biggest problem now is that size 10's and 12's are apparently very popular, because I have a hard time finding THOSE now.
Here's a pic of me the night before surgery (sorry it's so dark), and me last week. Someone asked me "Where did your booty go?" I told him it's still there, but considerably smaller.

As frustrating as you may feel at times... this process really does work!

That would be good luck I mean, but it doesn't hurt to have God in there too! He will play a big part in our surgery and recovery!

I'm so excited! October 28th can't come soon enough. Can't wait to get the band out, have bypass, lose weight, and get healthy! I'm so glad for this support group. Best wishes to u all.

I got my surgery date today and that made it very real to me. It seems like Ive been waiting for this date since February, and I'm kinda freaking out that I'm scheduled. I'm nervous, happy, scared, excited all at the same time!

I have no problems telling people that I'm going through surgery. My family knows, my bosses know. Luckily, I don't have to worry about co-workers as I'm the only person!! My Sunday school class knows as they have been praying for me. If someone asks whatI I'm having done, I don't care to tell them. If they want to try to tell me a horror story, I tell them I've done all the research, good and bad, and have made this decision. That usually stops them.

The same thing happened to me. It felt like another level of commitment o the surgery....

3 weeks later! 27# gone! I can tell in my face big time!!! So happy!

Hi there I'm new, but my surgery date is July11th in Ontario Canada!! It's been 2 years to get this date, we have a very slow process!! But it's finally here!! I've been on Optifast for 1 week and 1 more to go!! I found the first 4 days very hard, now I'm ok, drinking a lot of Water to keep full!! Love reading all the post

The RNY was about an hour then another hour in recovery. Home now and cant wait to jump in the shower. My daughter just told me I didnt even look like I had surgery! LOL

My surgery was a breeze! No drain tube....and just an overnight stay! Waiting for my discharge papers to be finished. I cant wait to get home! !

I just spoke to the nurse! She actually started the submission yesterday and faxed them the information they requested today!! She said it looked like I should have no problems and if she doesn't hear from them by Tuesday, she will call them!!! She said I could actually be having surgery on July 23 if everything works out, but because work, I will have to wait till first of August. But WOW!!!!!

I received a call from the surgery scheduler today and they switched my date again. Only this time they moved me up a week!!! I am now set for July 23rd!

Thanks for all the prayers today!!! I am officially on the Losers Bench!! I am sitting in a chair and about to go walking with the nurse. It went well and I am glad to be on the other side now!!!

I am at the hospital and will be going into surgery soon!!! I can't wait to start my new life!!!

I Was done with my surgery today around 1:30ish, I am currently in my room. Officially on the losers bench! No I can't ait to see the LBS drop..start my phase one post op diet tomorrow. A doing good, abs hurt like hell. Feels like i have done 1000 or more crutches. It's all worth it tho!! Good luck to this weeks surgery who are having them this week!
