Surgery tomorrow and I'm scared
zuzuspetals replied to renee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was scared too. But I was more afraid of not doing it. I could choose this amazing tool that could reinforce my desire for a long and happy life with the people I love, doing what I love and exploring things I never would have because of the obesity...or I could just stay the same. Tomorrow could be the same as today or it could be filled with possibility. It is scary, but it seemed more frightening to stay the same. Best wishes to you and deep breaths! -
Hi everyone, I had surgery June 26 and my recovery has been going really well except for these liquid med replacements my doc gave me. The stuff for gallstone prevention is a capsule and the powder makes me nauseous and the liquid antacid burns my throat enough to make me cough and kind of choke. Help! It seems ridiculous that the only difficult pat right now is the medicine! Chewable antacids, anyone? How about since I have no history or family incidences of gallstones, could I wait to take that when I can actually swallow the capsule? I'm going to call my surgeon on Monday, but till then, any support will be helpful. Thanks <3

My doc gave me this huge capsule for gallstone prevention and told me to open it and mix the powder in something. Well I've tried everything allowable and it is so completely nauseating and it burns my throat I dread taking it! I'm going to call him on Monday but in the meantime anyone have similar experience/solutions? Also the liquid antacid is running a close despicable second in the nausea department. Any of you have docs that will do chewables? Thanks. Yuck.

Woot, I'm on the losers bench! 2 days post op and feeling great, and advanced to stage 3 just now and the protein is going down fine. Only real pain is where the drain is but doc says once they tale it out I'll feel like a new woman. I've literally had bouts of the giggles....Finally after all the planning and the prep, I'm finally here!

Isopure is the PITS! Smells weird, tastes weird, doesn't mix with anything.

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! Woo hoo I'm scared! But I'm more scared NOT to do it. I have everything on deck, blender, food scale, baby spoons, sippy cups, plastic shot glasses ( not for actual shots tho!), liquid Tylenol, liquid colace, papaya enzyme, sugar free breath spray and mouthwash, blistex...what did I forget? SO EXCITED!

Have you tried unjury whey protein? It really dissolves well and my doc recommended it as the best for RNY patients. Maybe that'll go down better? Best wishes to you.

Oh I'll be thinking of you! I have to do a 2 week, 1000 calorie, one real food meal the rest liquid. What's your 3 week diet like?

My surgery date is June 26!!!!! I'm scared!! But confident and I can't wait to begin the recovery journey. I've lost 20 lb since January...hopefully that helped the proverbial 'fatty liver' syndrome. Best wishes to all the other Junies!

watching people eat
zuzuspetals replied to hajones5891's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had surgery yet-going in in June- but I have been doing 1200 calories and exercising since Christmas Eve. I have been extremely mindful and haven't cheated once, but it has been really hard. I totally empathize with those people that just eat toms of foods/c that was me and still could be! It's truly an addiction, all that sugar, white four, fat, high fructose corn syrup. Even for those who don't struggle with obesity ... That stuff is deadly addictive, the more you have the more you want. -
Did Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. Not gonna lie, it was really hard.
