Think thin has these wafer like crunchy bars, so much easier to eat. The wafers are much lighter! -
My CPAP saved my life. I don't think I would have had the strength to go through all of the pre surgery, surgery, and post surgery without it, never mind be as successful as I have been so far. If you have sleep apnea, you are severely sleep deprived and are damaging all your organs, especially your brain with lack of oxygen absorption. Sleep apnea is serious business, and I am amazed at how many people just find the mask a nuisance. You are going to feel SO MUCH BETTER after even only a few days on the mask! Yes it's uncomfortable...I jerry-rigged several homemade pads to wrap around the straps so it would be easier on my face and ears. Do whatever you can to make it work, promise yourself you'll give it a chance. Honestly the challenge of using the mask is NOTHING compared to the challenges you'll have post surgery. Also, you will be under anesthetic during surgery; do you really want there to be questions about your pulmonary health? People with apnea have extra special attention paid to them by their anesthesiologists and have extra monitors throughout the hospital stay. You wouldn't want to be on IV pain meds, fall asleep and stop breathing for good! Please give it a chance. A good nights sleep is a miracle.

Me too. If that's my only addiction, I'll take it. It's crucial to me.

It was probably 1/4 cup or less...I got it from the salad bar for the same reason you said. I can't get a whole bag of greens or berries either so I get it from the salad bar. -

3 shrimps and goat cheese baby greens salad. My NUT graduated me to stage 5, otherwise known as 'life'! The salad was amaaaaaazing! -
Just met with my NUT...crackers sit well with all of us, and it's a common thing for RNY people to over do b/c they disintegrate in your mouth and slide right through the old pouchy! Which is why I just had to get rid of them all. Just throw them out. Only 'bread' in the house is Ezekiel sprouted grain bread, 7 gr protein per slice and delicious toasted. Filling, wont slide out of pouchy either. Forgive yourself, crackers are sneaky.

May I recommend Belleruth Naperstack's meditations for successful surgery? I am a very nervous person and I did this meditation every night for a couple weeks before surgery and on the day of the operation I was freakishly calm! There is a guided meditation for the day of surgery and then there are healing affirmations for before and after. It works, try it!

Got rid of all my stretched out, ginormous bras and panties and replaced with new, 2 sizes smaller bras and panties. Woot! Nothing like brand new matching lingerie! -

Pizza nachos! Stacy's pita chips, mozzarella, pizza sauce, veggie pepperoni, oregano, basil. Yum! I love how I can make 5 nachos and be completely satisfied! -
I ate shrimp at about 4 weeks post op. I'm 6 weeks now and I can eat 3 medium shrimp...much better when they are sautéed not boiled. I don't eat meat so I don't know about steak.

3 garlic sautéed shrimp, and salad made with white beans, feta cheese, pistachios, tiny tomatoes, with a little EVOO, balsamic, salt and pepper. -
Report on the Ensure high protein shake: pros- doesn't smell funny, not too sweet, 25 g of protein, 5 g of sugar, 2.5 g fat, really good numbers, cons-it's big, 14 oz, so it takes some time to get down. I can't seem to do the powders anymore so I've been searching the premades and this one and the Glucerna hunger smart ones are working for me.

Although 'high school skinny' wasn't all that skinny for me, I'm there at age 46! Size 14. Woooop woooooop! -
Anyone drinking Ensure as a protein supplement? I can't stomach the powders too well anymore and I have been drinking the glucerna hunger smart shakes - 15 grams of protein but 180 calories. The ensure ones have 25 gr, so I was thinking of trying them. Good news is I'm down 52lbs total, 24 since surgery, 5 weeks out. Womp!
