  1. I am still in a lot of pain on my left side. So much that I am still taking about half of my recommended pain med every four to five hours. I am up and moving a lot but wondering if I over did it and am paying for it now. Feels like my left side incision ( the one that they do the most work around) is sewed too tight. If that makes any sense. I burns and I have sharp pains often. Would really like to be off presc pain meds as they make me loopy, but am totally miserable if I don't take on a regular basis. Any one else have or had this? How long did it take u to loose most of the pain? The rest of my stomach is fine and no problems taking in liquids.
  2. So my doc put me on a muscle relaxer and my pain is sooooooo much better. Now my left side is just sore, not like my stomach is ripping apart.
  3. Just waiting to hear what time surgery will be tomorrow. Eeeeeek! Bundle of nerves, trying to get things done around the house. Questioning if this is what I should be doing... I know it is the right thing, but last minute doubts are creeping in my head. Only clear liquids today, that is fine, I don't think I could keep anything else down.

    Super nervous!

I just had surgery on Thursday. And am a wimp when it comes to pain. The catheter was nothing to take out. There is something on the catheter tube about 6 inches from your groin. The nurse released this thing, the little balloon inside me(balloon hold it in) deflated, and she pulled it out. The Jp drain was annoying. It burned and hurt inside. I was begging them to take it out. When they took it out (Saturday), it hurt a little, but it was a strange sensation, only about 3 seconds. Now that drain site still hurts, that is the area where most of the work is done. But it is just sore, ice and heat help. Being only 4 days out I can tell you there have been many bad moments and melt downs. But please force yourself (when your pain meds are really working). To get out of bed and move. It will hurt and you probably will cry. The first time I wa crying and my whole body was shaking uncontrollably, but once u get moving, even just 3 doors down and back with a walker, you feel relief! By the second day I was walking more than in bed. My gas pain wasn't in my shoulder like most it was in my lower back. Today, I haven't taken pain meds yet and it is noon. What. I am trying to say is you can do this. It will be hard but it really does get better every day! Let me know if u have other questions.

I am on the loser bench. Ha ha! Does anyone else have the most pain from the j p drain? My other incision areas are barely bothering me. Just that darn drain.

I will be in 2 nights... They let me walk as much as I wanted. It wasn't far, maybe 3 doors down and back

Ok so I walked for the first time. Getting up and out of bed was horrible. Once I started walking (with a walker). My whole body felt better. Will try again in a few hours

Just have some mild/annoying pain on my left side. Pain in my back too, I guess that is from gas. Going to walk later tonight.

In the end, bowel prep wasn't that bad. Maybe because I have been eating mostly liquids for 2 weeks. Some flush able wipes were the best idea, toilet paper hurt.

    Prayers needed!

Prayers on the way. I was denied twice before my approval. Keep pushing, insurance companies would like you to give up and walk away. It will work out in the end. This is just a bump in the road.
