Hi there! I was banded for 12 years. I just had my surgery last Tuesday, but they took out my band and did my bypass all in the same surgery. My biggest pain site is where they removed my port from the band. I have had gas pains but nothing terrible. I'm only 5 days post op and I can tell you already that the bypass is so much better than the band! Good luck! Lisa :-) surgery date: Dec. 4th, 2012

Nothing new. Just my same protein drink and water. Maybe I need more fluids. Trying to drink but it's hard when u feel like puking. Lisa :-) surgery date: Dec. 4th, 2012

Today is day 4 post op and I'm allowed a full liquid diet but an afraid to go full liquids. I haven't lost weight since surgery and I'm scared that if I have more than Water and Protein drink that I won't lose weight! Help. Lisa :-)<br />surgery date: Dec. 4th, 2012

I am 4 days post op and doing well. I'm very sore where they removed my port but everywhere else is pretty good. Still waiting to get back down to my day of surgery weight. I gained 4lbs after surgery from swelling and fluids. Maybe tomorrow will be my lucky day? ! Lisa :-)<br />surgery date: Dec. 4th, 2012

Anyone scared to eat? I am scared to go full liquids bc I so badly want to lose weight. I afraid that if I have some soup or sugar free pudding I won't lose weight. Snow and Cdssmith Today is good so far. I only spent one night in the hospital. I was up walking 3 hours after surgery. I was also getting in all my fluids. My surgeon said my band had caused so much trauma to my stomach that he had to remove a part of it. He is not the one who put the band in btw. My pain is pretty much only at my old port site. Since our ports are sewn into our muscle walls it hurts really bad when they take them out. I was in surgery for 1.5 hours. Still no hunger which is fantastic.
